Tried one out recently,Buttercream finish. It's on my wishlist.

Well, practise over. It worked out well! Everyone in the band noticed the difference. The guitarist loved the new amp smell coming off it! Well at least it wasn't smoke! Big difference over the Fender Rumble. Plenty of lows and highs. I went for mid settings on the the amp,had the compresser on and the high/treble on. Very well balanced tone, could hear every note I played. I better brush up on the set! Looking forward to gigging it over the next few weeks.

Taking the cabs and the Veyron amp to practise, before this weekend gig. Had a go in house today, nice range of tones. Very happy with the cabs and the amp!

I think they already had those before the Warfdale one's came along. Same stuff.double the price.

Funny you should say that...Just about to sell mine. I am now going back to separates now after using the Rumble for the last couple of years. I found it lacked bottom end a bit. Certainly very loud! Added an extension cab,1 x 15. One of the cheap Wharefdale ones from Andertons. Made a massive differance and the rumble seemed to come alive! Now adding another 2 x 10,then getting a veyron amp. So,give me a shout if you are interested. I am in Falkirk and will be putting it on sale at £350. Comes with cover.

It's arriving tomorrow, used the 1x 15 with the Fender Rumble last night, the whole set up sounded ace. Managed to get the time to mess around with settings,so it worked a lot better. Still going to sell the Fender though.

Wasn't interesting,same old stuff....

Yip,at the moment, this is the route I will be going down.As mentioned I have a Fender Rumble. I play in 2 bands,Classic Punk covers band and Classic Rock covers. 2 or 3 gigs per month on average, some large gigs, using house bass rig, small /medium venues, using my own gear. So buying the Veyron and the Warefdale speakers lets me try out the seperates, maybe change the amp later or pick up some other speakers. But not putting out a lot of cash.

2 x 10 now ordered.

That's my plan now. With the cheap cabs and the veyron amp,I can give it a shot, then sell the Rumble. Great wee amp, sadly, not for me.
-
So how did it sound?
-
So how did you find it?

I have not had seperates for years, after a long lay off of about 20 years,I got back in to playing, buying a 1 x 15 Trace Elliot combo. Big sound,300 watts, used it at jam nights and gigs. Too bloody heavy, but what a sound. Moved it on bought the TC Electronic combo,1 x 15,again good sound,in fact there is one in the pub we rehearse, and I like the sound of that. But I have tried for 2 years with the Fender Rumble, venues large and small, never really getting the sound I want. It tends to be over loud without depth. Very, very loud!! When adding the cab,it totally changed the sound, with all the eq set flat,ie in the middle. But an issue with the PA and sound, ment I had no time the other night to do anything about my sound. Another gig this weekend, which will tell me which way I need to go.
-
I used that set up at the gig on Saturday. First time since owning the Rumble that I have actually felt the bass on stage. Don't get me wrong, you can certainly hear the Rumble 500,in fact I get told to turn down all the time! Just can't seem to find the sound that suits me. Adding the Warefdale cab made a differance, but I still have to fiddle about with the tone on the Fender a bit,it was a bit.....errm,bassy!!
-
That was my fault.....lol
-
It won't go there, due to the shape of the grill.Thought that myself! Those corners are just gaps.

Feet repositioned and badge moved! Will put back later when I decide what I am doing..

It's here and hooked up to my Fender Rumble 500.Even comes with a short jack to jack lead. Sounds loud and clear. Plenty of depth, but that's the cab now putting out 500 Watts with the extension speaker. Will try it out this weekend, but I think I will get hold of the 2 x 10 cab and start looking at bass heads. Decent finish on cab, as others have said. I might remove the rubber feet and place them on the side of cab whilst I use with the Fender.

Didn't move quick enough and lost out on the speaker/amp deal. Hopefully they will get the orange amp back in at that price. Just waiting on my 1 x15 to be delivered,it's on the van!!. I have a Fender Rumble 500 combo. Even without an extension speaker,it's pretty loud! That seems to be the trouble. I struggle at times to get a proper bass tone. It always seems to lack depth. Trying out the 1 x 15 to see if it makes a differance. After reading about folk getting hold of the 2 x10 cab and amp has made me want to try something different,so if it works out,I may get rid of the combo, buy an amp and the seperates, maybe upgrading to better speakers at some point. We'll see!!
-
Lol..no,I was talking about the combo. As I said, loud enough, thats for sure, but I need a bit more bottom end,so will see how this 1 x 15 works out.
-
The cab itself is pretty decent, but at certain gigs I could do with a bit more bottom end. It's a loud enough wee cab and the band do a mixture of small to medium sized venues, with the bigger ones either using venue PA and bass gear or DI the combo through PA.
-
Just ordered a 1 x15 cab to sit under my Fender Rumble 500 combo. Will let you know how it goes!

That's what happens when you don't play Beatles songs in The cavern..
