Just managed to stop myself from completing the transaction... phew!! I just thought to myself, "Why?!!" I'm pretty sure I only wanted to buy one because it's such a good deal, and maybe because it would be another thing to nerd about with. I don't need it. Nah, I'm gonna buy an AERO1 instead! Doh!
Did the very self same thing....thought ..this looks nice...only £60...mmmm....then I remembered I have just sold my Sandberg cause I was skint.......

Thats a great postal service...I was wrapping the bass around about that time yesterday morning.....As I said to Tony.....wrong time to sell bass......wrong time to have to pay a massive repair bill for my van......But I have noticed a bit of a fall in the prices of guitars on ebay recently...again,it's that time of the year/month...if I could have held out till the spring I would have...(or better still...not sold it!).....by the way...the postal service was Interparcel....Tony picked them...and I used them myself to send another guitar out...worth a shot!
Yeah, I still want a JM4, but I wanted to replace my P-bass with something, so put what I thought was a low bid on this and won it! Tony
Well done.....I had planned to keep this bass,at least for a wee while longer..did expect maybe £100 more...but,it's a crap time of the year to sell...maybe the spring would have been better...but due to serious big repair bill for van..tax demand and electric bill overdue....it was either sell the bass or one of my children....but then again..they are in their 20's and would not be very happy.....glad its going to someone on the forum though.....what is is they say...we are only looking after the guitars for the next owner.......or some other stupid saying.....still got my Musicman Sub!
A lovely bass but personally I think the sig spoils it if you want to play it, of course if you put in in a cabinet then it's fine, I couldn't own a bass I couldn't play. Not knocking Lemmy but do you think his sig is worth a grand?
As Lemmy and Rickenbacker go hand in hand....why a Fender?..........he would have been as well signing the drum kit.....or...roll up roll up......come and get your overpriced kazoos signed by Mr Kazoo himself....Lemmy!
I personally have a phone phobia. I hate phones - this stems from a job I once had whereby if my personal line rang it was always a problem, hence I associate phones with problems. But I digress.
I can relate to this one.....years ago I worked for a plumbing company.....at nights and weekends I was on a standby rota. Everytime the mobile phone rang it had the nokia tune/ringtone...anytime after that when I heard that nokia tone my heart sank.............
Unfortunately she seems to have lost her singing voice too - she sounded like Vic Reeves doing his club singer routine last night .
Love that coment......I watched a recording of the show when I got in from my New Years eve gig.......she looked hot,but she sounded crap.......we laughed out loud a couple of times at her antics.........I noticed that the running time of the show was over 2 hours......we fast forwarded most of it......think I managed about 20 minutes........not one of the best line ups.

Nice enough guitars...in fact guitar porn.....alright for a fly w**k.....but as we are all about playing music...not lusting over guitars...what kind of tunes are we playing on this stuff...and to who?
Controversial I think P-basses are a one trick pony abate it's a very good trick, I'd say get an SX P-bass you'll get a really nice finish a great P-bass sound and you'll save yourself £1300. /Controversial.
I have the jazz bass version of the SX.....Very good bass indeed..paid £150 for it new....nails the classic jazz sound..feels looks and plays great!

At the risk of putting a downer on everything....think of those poor people at the other side of the world who have been flooded, and have lost their homes...yes we are lucky to buy nice guitars .......
Someone else scored a Ken Smith from crack converters. I'm sure there's a thread about these kind of happenings.
That would be a good thread...lets hear from anyone who has been out and about and has seen stuff for sale...sood or bad!......I went to cash converters in Falkirk last week...came away with Fender Strat(USA)...£400......Westone Thunder 1 A fretless...£89!......they were giving 20% off all guitars that day......bought the guitars for resale on e bay......but seem to have taken a shine to the fretless......though it did seem to shake the room at the last jamnite and spilled a pint over the drummer!.....Went to Stirling cash converters and they had a OLP 5 string Musicman copy on for £400...months later its still there....Bought a Sandberg bass in Glasgow from the pawn shop in Argyle St for £460.....its the road worn Californian p bass type with p bass pickups/musicman pickups...well I SAY BOUGHT...PAID A DEPOSIT!
-
Found myself in Glasgow today, and walked by a pawn shop....in the window...a Sandberg Californian road worn bass....you know!..the one that looks like a Precision.........don't know what happened...but I came to...about 15 minutes later...with no money, and a slip of paper telling me I had paid a deposit of £100 for the bass, which was priced at £500...but had somehow been reduced to the great price of £460!......has this ever happened to any of you guy's or gal's.....and if so....could you tell my wife!......I have now had to put my Tokai Jazz Bass on e bay(plug plug)........to fund yet another guitar.....when will this stop!.....(go on,have a look at e bay....you know you want to!)

Moving away...slightly from bass guitars owned by famous players....I have a flight case that used to contain a Trace Elliot 4x10 cab. I bought it for my Trace Elliot bass combo, from e bay...stenciled on both sides is Sinead O'Connor......didn't know she played the bass.......
Good detective work! I think you're right, it looked a lot like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nash-Jazz-Bass--JB-6...3d59a25ff1040bc
....It was indeed a Nash....Iwas at the show, and sat right at the front of the stage...with my feet touching the monitor!...great show..and the wife claims she enjoyed it too!......as for bass players not getting a shag......well!.....what can I say!(yes he was bloody right!).....is that right dear?

Having owned a pre Ernie Ball Stingray....I think the sub sounds and plays just as well.....it sometimes comes down to money....I sold the Stingray for£950 a couple of years ago. I was not playing it at all,and at the time had no intention of gigging again,also....being self employed I was skint and the sale paid the bills and let me continue my business through a bad patch. In the last years I have been buying and selling guitars on e bay...trying things out and slowly working back up to a guitar that feels and sounds right.....this Sub bass does it for me,and may be the nearest I get to my Stingray.I played it the other day when it arrived and it really is a terific guitar! I have a Tokia jazz bass,SX vintage series Jazz,a Squier Silver series jazz.....this Sub tops them all! The finish is ok.....it had been lightly relicted...but looks ok....I may paint it out,but thats about it.....I will be using it at the next gig.....yes....very happy with the Sub!
-
I picked up a white, with red scratchplate sub from e bay last week...some of you may have seen it...the previous owner had slightly relected it.....very nice bass,heavy...but nice punchy sound....a snip at £260!...very pleased!!!

Ever set out to buy strings...and come home with a guitar?
theplumber posted a topic in Bass Guitars
On the way to the bank,on Friday evening, after being paid for a job....I decided to take a look in the local music shop(Falkirk)I needed a set of strings, and nearly made it.....but out the corner of my eye, spotted an SX Vintage Series Jazz bass hanging on the wall. Maple neck, inlays and natural finish alder body... I had played it a couple of months ago,and thought it was a cracker then.....but had no cash! I remembered someone on this very site raving about the quality of these guitars. I already have a nice Tokai Jazz bass....Squier Silver series jazz....and had just bought a Musicman bass from ebay the day before....I didn't know the price the last time I was in....the girl who was on didn't know what the owner was asking for it.....but the man himself was in on Friday........£149!!!!! brand new!........plugged it in and within seconds I was hooked........needless to say,I had a bit of a struggle thinking what to say to the wife.....2 bass guitars in the space of days!......and all that work needed in the house...not to mention the car with the wrecked engine...sitting outside my house since December....and then there is the money for the holiday.........Word of warning...don't touch these guitars with a bargepole.....they are BLOODY BLOODY BLOODY GOOD!!!......AND A CRACKING BUY AT £149. I can't get over how nice this bass is......(it cost me a bit more than £149......I gave the wife £100.....you know....go and buy yourself something.........then at bed time...well,lets leave it there....nice bass though!) -
Can't seem to find a thread about these...any ideas?....I,m looking to replace 2 squier p bass necks for a couple of thinner jazz type necks.....seen new ones on ebay...anyone bought any of these...Thanks,Stevie.

just looking at guitars on e bay......guy selling a fender jazz bass, which looks proper, serial number dates it early 70,s...claims he bought it for £300...and is looking to raise the same!...is it a copy(replica)......or is it some poor buggers knocked off pride and joy...you decide!.....its up tomorrow night, sorry no link, go on e bay,and search fender jazz bass........its a bloke in merseyside, with a dodgy less than 10 feedback....
