  1. Great guitars.Had both the Classic and Vintera. Very well made, sounded ace but that wide neck didn't work for me. Took me a while to find out.I was going between several guitars at the time and most had jazz width necks. Maybe if I had had stuck at it...Player series great but not as good as my Squier Classic vibe p bass.
  2. I suppose so....sounds a bit aspergers to me.
  3. I think it's referred to as being ''on the spectrum'' these days.
  4. Either Living In A Box or Going Underground will do me!!
  5. After being told by a new social convener in a Glasgow social club back in the day that he would not be booking us again and we should forget any future bookings we decided to take a bit of revenge (we were young...and drunk) After we packed up we took all the bingo balls from the machine and chucked them on to the M8 on the way home. I seem to remember that the clubs PA amp got some lager poured in the air vent......I know!! Shocking! Pity as it was a decent club and the band always went down well! After writing this I also seem to remember the said convener giving us a bit of lip then being attacked by the drummer! Oh dear.........
  6. Currently using two Squiers for gigs at the moment both Classic Vibe series. I bought this to use the neck for a project but after playing it decided it's too good to break! Yes a very well made guitar, basic but does what it has to!
  7. For sale 2014 Squier Jazz Bass Made In China in Yako factory. This example is an Affinity. But don't be put off by it being the entry level guitar. These guitars from that factory and that era are a cut above the rest in terms of quality. The neck is super straight with low action and no buzzes or sharp fret ends. Nut size is 38mm.Alder body. All electrics work as they should with no crackles or pops! Some small marks/dings on body but nothing major. Fitted with chrome knobs originals included plus gig bag.UK postage included in price but pickup welcome. This is a cracking playing and sounding bass but could be a good modding platform or spares as the neck is superb! *****SOLD****

Comes with chrome knobs but original black plastic jazz type included. Gig bag also included. UK postage included in price but pick up welcome. Great playing and sounding bass but could be a good mod platform. The neck is superb.
  9. Second gig for my Squier Classic Vibe 60s Precision and what a sound! Even the punters next to my cab liked it!.....hopefully!
  10. Despite me contacting them on Tuesday with the proper house number they still tried to deliver to wrong address this afternoon that's why they called me up.Its back in the depot awaiting delivery again! They have marked that the address issue has been resolved. I bloody hope so.
  11. Had a call from Parcelforce and spoke to a really nice lady who has taken the new address down and said they will sort it out....fingers crossed!!
  12. Well after posting about great service and no delays....I posted a bass out on Monday,Parcelforce 24. Picked up from my house in the afternoon and I followed it on the tracker over the next 24 hours. It arrived in Liverpool and an attempt to deliver was made late afternoon! Message from the guy who was waiting in for it saying check the tracker...It's been sent to the local depot! Someone stupid (me) had put down the wrong property number and they could not deliver it (thankfully) Anyway much e mails, messages and the likes and still no further forward. I managed to get the proper number added and then it was marked to be redirected. It never went out the next day..or the next and now (Friday) it's in a depot in Liverpool and has been assigned to it's delivery route in preparation for our driver taking it out for delivery! God knows when that will be as on the website they mentioned delays all over the country! Seems my luck has run out! I sold the bass on e bay and have been in touch and spoken on the phone to the buyer who is very understanding...up to now! Just have to play the waiting game and if all else fails cancel the sale and try and get it redirected back to me!! It may be an early Christmas present!!!
  13. Recently sold a Fender Vintera and Classic series Precision bass to BassBros. Both made in Mexico. great fit and finish, loved the sound and did no mods on them. Could not get on with the wide necks which was a shame as they both were great guitars. I had sold a Fender Player series just before I got them both. I did like it but the other two seemed like a step up! So over the last few months I have been mostly using 2 Sandberg Electras,a Godin Shifter Classic and a Sire V5. Really missed the P bass so started looking for another! I narrowed it down to an American made p bass,a player series (Made In Mexico) and a Squier Classic Vibe 60's p bass....Tried the Squier first and that was it! The feel, sound, look, fit and finish did it! Bought it on the spot and the very next day managed to pick up a Squier Classic Vibe 70's p bass in a fetching Surf green. Only mods so far are new vintage type reverse tuners on the 60's bass and a Fender hi mass bridge on the 70's bass!. Well worth a punt!
  14. Lucky me last week...Had bass uplifted from my house at 2pm Monday and it arrived in London with buyer at 8.45am Tuesday. Parcelforce 24.
  15. Agreed. I have used Toneriders on a couple of guitars and head to head with some decent guitars held their own..in fact sounded better than the Fender stock pickups in my Vintera. Maybe better isn't the word but louder and clearer. As for Squiers...well as we all know by now some are great and some not so! I don't need a status symbol...in fact I don't need a Status!! But a decent playing and gigging guitar that doesn't cost a fortune and gets the job done!
  16. I recently had two Made in Mexico 50s type basses. One was a Vintera and the other the classic series. Both the same guitar, different name! I had to sell them as after a while I discovered I did not like the width of the neck. Fit and finish on both spot on. Soundwise really good! I had sold a Fender Player series p bass to fund one of the guitars. To be honest I could have kept it but have no room for many guitars! (I know, kick the lad out!!) Anyway I needed to fill the P bass gap and was just about to buy another Player series off Gumtree when I spotted a Squier Vintage Vibe 60s P bass in white! I had heard that these are really great guitars but as usual thought...beginners bass....not for me! Maybe even a bit of snobbery. Why buy a Squier when I can get a Fender! I looked at some second hand USA Fenders, then the player bass, then the Squier came up at a tad over £200 second hand in A1 condition! Decided to take a punt on it. As soon as I picked it up and played it I knew that the folk online had been right! It does feel, look, play and sound better than the Player series! Feels like my first P bass an early 70s thing long gone! Not for everyone but will know after a couple of gigs how I feel about it but for now...yes deffo worth a look at !
  17. Still for sale on Cash Converters site...chancers!
  18. Cash Converters Stratford!....
  19. Messaged the seller and said this isn't a real Fender! He replied ''what makes you say that?'' Where do I begin!
  20. Stunning and pretty rare Sandberg Electra M4 in Red Burst. Sounds amazing. Original Sandberg power humbucker and active pre amp. master volume with push/pull active /passive mode, treble boost cut/bass boost /cut. This is on par with German made Sandbergs I have owned. Assembled and checked in the Sandberg factory in Braunschwieg. Selling to fund purchase of another dream bass..(I dream a lot!) Would prefer local pickup but will post UK only at buyers expense and risk. I have pictured the bass as well as I could and have shown a small indent on the front of the bass where your forearm rests. There are no other major marks just usual age related swirls. The guitar is priced to reflect the indent but the guitar is in fantastic condition and feels and sounds as good as it looks! Starting to wonder if I really should be selling...!!!
  21. Up for grabs my Sire Marcus Miller V5 bass. This is the passive version. Roasted maple neck, rolled fingerboard edges, alder body.Rear stringing option.Vintage style bridge. Colour is vintage white. Have a look online at the reviews they really are that good! Selling to raise funds for another guitar. Would prefer local pickup but can post UK Any questions just ask. Thanks!
