  1. Playing in local pub Bar Bliss Kirkintilloch, just outside Glasgow last night with my band. Small bar with large window in front of which the band play and TVs on the wall. Looked up at one point to notice the other 3 members of the band playing away whilst watching golf on the TV....I continued to look out the window at passing Police cars and buses!
  2. Such a shame.....I also bought one of his guitars years ago. Sad loss.
  3. He three at one point! The neck was just a tad too wide for me but great bass guitars! Had player series and it was ok! Bit like a Squier!
  4. Did you contact Bass Bros and offer up your bass? Because as far as I know it's the only way they would offer to buy your bass. I have sold two guitars to Will and bought one from him. 100% recommend. No issues, excellent communication, gave fair price both times and money transferred in to my bank straight away.
  5. Had one the exact same as this sold it to Bass Bros. It's still on their site. Also sold my Fender Vintera to them. Tried my best but could not get on with the neck. If I had maybe just played the two it would not have been an issue but I have been flitting between 4 other guitars with jazz type necks. But all in all fantastic guitars that's for sure!
  6. Not that sure...lol. Its thin bit like a jazz and flat a bit like my old Yamaha BB1100s
  7. Beenlooking at these as well and Glasgow is just down the road from me! At least you got to try them out and see a bit of the city! A wee day out as they say! Don't know if it's your thing but I recently got hold of a Godin Shifter Classic bass. Made In Canada and pretty rare in this country it seems! I love mine and it has a massive sound and great tones.passive but you would not think so going by the output! Check the reviews online .By the way there is one for sale in Absolute Music and on their e bay page! Well worth it I love mine! Here is a picture of what it looks like!
  8. Very nice words! As mentioned I have only discovered the music of Gentle Giant in the last few months! Heard the name over the years and never bothered to check them out. To be honest I wouldn't have been able to take it all in! But in my opinion they are up there with the greats!! Check them out if you can! RIP Ray. What a player indeed!
  9. Just heard that bass player from Gentle Giant,Ray Shulman has passed away. I have recently just started to listen to Gentle Giant. It's funny how some bands pass you by. But if you get a chance check out Gentle Giant. Ray was a brilliant all round musician as well as a fantastic bass player.
  10. They must be funky cats! That means our cat compares my bass playing to a hoover or hairdryer!!
  11. The cat seems to like the stuff the cover is made of. He likes to sit on the laptop bag! I tell you what he doesn't like....the bass! As soon as I plug it in he runs off! .....no comment!!
  12. This is the blurb....really close to keeping this and sticking it in our keyboard players studio! But then again where would the cat sit?
  13. 29kg 650mm H, 600 W ,400 D. Google Genz Benz Bass Amplification and a full spec appears on a Bass Direct page from when they sold them.
  14. He may die as every say's he is not loud enough! And do you know what? He isn't!!!
  15. Yes....it is! As mentioned I went to Scarborough to get it but my wife and I wanted a night away anyway! I think it's a buyers market at the moment with lot's of great stuff for not a lot of cash! I think this will be getting removed and stored in our keyboard players studio for a bit! Been thinking about getting a Barefaced 2 x10 after reading a few reviews and speaking to someone who owns one!
  16. Yip. I decided to try a 4 x 10 setup after using the Fender Rumble 1 x 15 's for a good few years. I always used 2 as it made it a bit easier to reach the amp!! Seen these on here a few weeks back and decided to tie in a wee road trip wife the wife which involved going to a place near Scarborough and staying over at a nice wee hotel! Had a nice chat with the chap who sold me these,Chris (SgtD) He told me he had more or less used two at most gigs. Anyway I bought two and tried one out at my next gig! Wow!! what a sound ! Clear, deep and punchy!. Used with my Ampeg PF500 it certainly sounds very loud! Anyway managed to sell the Fenders straight away and I am punting one of these as I really don't need two! We shall see what happens ! The cat loves to sit on it so it will be missed!
  17. Oh dear! I went to Scarborough for these! I had an idea one would be enough. Fancy a trip to Scotland hoots mon ye ken up yer kilt an all that mince!
  18. It's a bit stinky poo really....
  19. Looks real enough to me. Early model used and abused!! Let's see what it goes for!! I suppose someone will buy it and do it up! A few years ago I bought a Wilkes bass from E bay. Some of you might remember they looked very very similar to Jaydee guitars of that era. I got it for £25 on a buy now! That's when real bargains came up every day! It was a horrible matt black but in good nick otherwise! Filthy and dusty......but she's good with the kids!!....lol. Anyway I stripped the body of all paint and it turned out to be a really nice mahogany under the paint! Can't remember what the pickup was...might have been Dimarzio or something like that! I used it about the house but can't remember gigging it. It wasn't really my thing! It got punted back on e bay and I think it went for something like £250. Ah...the good old days!!!
  20. Messaged the guy when I seen it on Gumtree a few days ago. Told him that in my opinion it was an old Made In India Sunn/Mustang P bass copy. Sometimes they are Encore brand. Not the worst bass guitars as many folk on here will know! But yes around £450 way off the mark price wise! Needless to say........
