It's a bit stinky poo really....

Looks real enough to me. Early model used and abused!! Let's see what it goes for!! I suppose someone will buy it and do it up! A few years ago I bought a Wilkes bass from E bay. Some of you might remember they looked very very similar to Jaydee guitars of that era. I got it for £25 on a buy now! That's when real bargains came up every day! It was a horrible matt black but in good nick otherwise! Filthy and dusty......but she's good with the kids!!....lol. Anyway I stripped the body of all paint and it turned out to be a really nice mahogany under the paint! Can't remember what the pickup was...might have been Dimarzio or something like that! I used it about the house but can't remember gigging it. It wasn't really my thing! It got punted back on e bay and I think it went for something like £250. Ah...the good old days!!!

Modded 70s/80s Precision anybody?
theplumber replied to prowla's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Messaged the guy when I seen it on Gumtree a few days ago. Told him that in my opinion it was an old Made In India Sunn/Mustang P bass copy. Sometimes they are Encore brand. Not the worst bass guitars as many folk on here will know! But yes around £450 way off the mark price wise! Needless to say........ -
Just leave a key under the mat......lol All the best Dave hope all is well!

Just having a look at some of the artists he had played with....The Who,Toyah,Mick Jagger,Elton John,Randy Crawford,Robbie Williams and many more! Loved his bass line on Toyahs single I Want To Be Free and the cheesy Right Said Fred....I'm Too Sexy For My Shirt!

Just heard Phil Spalding passed away today...another sad loss.

Can you refer to anything as ''she'' now? It's a bit of a ''pc'' minefield......

Don't listen to Radio 2 during the day......You won't find anything decent at all!

Did that gig many times over the years and was offered gigs by the venue including last night! But our drummer refuses point blank to do it due to the load in and parking situation. I don't find it too bad and have alaways found a parking space. The trick is to get a barrow or borrow the pubs barrow!.You are lucky you were the only band on last night usually there is two and the changeover can be a bit of a pain! That's why my last band only played on the Sunday night!

Yet another dealing with Will at Bass Bros. Recently purchased a Sandberg Electra bass from the website which I love!.Great service and pleasant transaction. So I decided to move on one of my Fender Precision guitars. Sent details to Will and he came back with a very fair offer. Money now in my account today! I must just say I had already spent it last week anyway! But again big shout out to Will and Bass Bros. Fantastic folk to deal with!

It's a bit of give and take. But it seems to be sticking a bit at the moment with the keys guy who is using excuses to avoid learning new stuff...

A dear Jake letter....best thing is to wait outside his house and ambush him! He might feel differently then! Then again.......

It's nice to know your input is valued in the band lol. I am well aware of my input as it got me fired from the last band. Who needs hearing anyway lol....

Played Fortunate Son in two bands. It went down a storm.Years back in the 90's I used to DJ. Playing in a pub one night I was playing some chart type rave/techno and a bit of Blur,Oasis,Ocean Colour Scene....Lad comes over and say's ''Mate have you got any decent tunes? Play something by the Monkees!''

In the past I would have been a bit miffed...well to be honest I am a bit. But trying to learn from past mistakes. I did play in a punk covers band for a couple of years and we all agreed the set was great as it was. No need to change and the songs great to play. Some bands feel that the punters notice if you play the same songs all the time but maybe that's why they like the band. I'm sure if they see other bands though they won't really notice new songs being added to our set list! It's really the band that sometimes get bored playing the same old stuff but as i said sometimes that's the way it is!

Not in the pubs we play in. Its mainly middle age folk that come to see the bands and none of the bands I have been in recently, classic rock, punk etc are playing anything current. Its things from 30 and 40 years ago! I suppose it's an age thing but I couldn't give a hoot about anything from the charts! But that said horses for courses! We are covering Genesis,ELO,Supertramp,The Killers,The Cult etc...pretty old hat! lol

Is it heavy? I have heard that these weigh a fair bit? Nice looking bass!

The band do around 30 to 40 gigs a year and have been going for about 7 years. I think we have a decent set of songs all known stuff but I believe it really centres around the keyboard player not having the confidence or skills for certain songs which is fine as none of us are tip top! I think we will be able to get a couple of new songs in the set at some point. It's not as much as I would like but I have learned to step back a bit from this kind of thing. Either that or find another band and at this stage of the game for me is not something I fancy! Yip...sometimes it just doesn't go 100% your way! Anyway, there is nothing stopping me getting in to a wee side project or at least pushing my playing in the house!!
