1. Apparently my basic 4 sounds like a stingray. I cant compare directly because I have never played one.
2. Ayup!
3.
Is that my old bass in your sig?! Did you buy it from Primebass? I loved that bass, it was my first Sandberg and changed everything for me. I currently have bad GAS for a fiver exactly the same......
YES it is your old bass! And a fine bass she is too....

8. http://www.sandberg-guitars.com/ Click on the configurator for a modicum of fun..
9. Modifying a bass is a rite of passage that most of us go through Kev. In some ways you need to go through it. The reality is though, that the bridge you already have will be fine, as will be the pickups and the tuners. But, a Wilkinson bridge will be good too! But then you won't be happy till the tuners match the bridge and so on.... I have an old Aria which I modded, I sprayed all the chrome bits black. It took me ages, then the paint rubbed off..... I always wanted EMG pickups, so I simply found some letters out of an old Airfix kit and stuck the letters on. In my head they sounded better.. You will never devalue your first bass mate, you will probably just buy a new one eventually, and then put your Charvette away someplace where you will rediscover it a few years time, and smile.
10. You could possibly file the zero fret and have a decent guitar.. True that, I saw it on Ebay..
11. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Twelve-Bridge-saddle-grub-height-adjustment-screws-SC14-/130895035784?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item1e79f3bd88 You will need to extract one and measure it first Kev. But these might be worth a punt?

And a bloody good buy in new money. There are a number of basses in the for sale section at the moment that are worth buying, not only to play, but just to stick under the bed for a few years. They would provide a much better investment than a savings account. I am skint like many others, but that is what I would do if I had any disposable income.
13. I clank loads, I can practice with a light touch ensuring that I pluck the strings across the fingerboard and not inadvertantly towards it. Then in a live situation I dig in and clank like two skeletons scrapping in a dustbin. Remember that the pickups mainly react to the movement of the string through the magnetic field, and react less to any mechanical vibration. Some clattering will get through to the amp, but not as much as you might think.
14. Just bought the demo. Excellent stuff!
15. If I had the cash I would love to buy this.. That is one hell of a bass. Good luck with the sale. Fantastic ATK.
16. Thank you T-Bird. Right price drop to £260 + £20 Courier? Or £260 collected, or £260 and fettle your own courier? Thats cheaper than Gumtree for my online basschat buddies.. Please assist, Mrs Dandy has got her eye on a new frock.
17. Yup I have found all the original documents, instruction booklet, tags, sticker, etc.
18. It is bloody heavy though..I will give you that.
19. Go with the Tanglewater. That is a stonking buy.
20. I wonder if there is a market for reliced strings?
21. It's not priced to make a profit, I just want to pass it on for what it is worth. Buy it for £280 , try it for £280, if you want to sell it on, you can sell it for £280, you will have lost nothing. A no risk bass purchase.
