1. I reckon its about time we retook the stage from the pretty boy posturing brigade. Music needs more oily dusty fella's singing about oily dusty fella stuff. To be appreciated by oily dusty fellas.
2. I would love to be in a band which celebrates the anguish of being middle aged. Teenage angst has nothing on middle age misanthropy and shattered dreams. At least with teenage angst you have the option of "a future" With middle age, one has too look forward to increasing infirmity and morbidity. Sort of a black metal, thrash/punk fusion.. MMMMmmmm Where is my Darkthrone collection?
3. Ayup!!!
4. I always wanted some Mission 760i's Alas I had to make do with B&W.
5. My rotosound monel flats are nice, not sure is they are are high tension or not. They sound the same now as when I first stuck em on. They sound like nicely worn in rounds, but more harmonics are evident. They do not sound dead at all.
6. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190741235688?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Nope, I am not the seller. Just though that it was curious enough to stick on here.
7. They look like they should be sat on a parcel shelf.
8. I have a NAD 302, In slate grey.
9. OOOoohhh! Shiny finger board.. That looks the mutts nuts..
10. My little trouser flapper..
11. I would start here .. http://www.richersounds.com/hifi
12. Band practice with drummer on holiday, it sounded crap. Guitards kept speeding up and giving me hard stares. I was right cos I have a magic tapping foot.
13. And what, pray tell, is wrong with Steeleye span?
14. Weirdly I spent an entire Cryptopsy gig stood directly in front of the the bass cabs. I could feel but not hear the sound. At the back of the venue the bass was thunderous. The audible bass seemed to magically "Form" in the middle of the venue. Odd.
15. Ayup! You Johnophile.
16. I think that I am in for the forseeable. I feel like a proper bass player now. I just gotta find a hat.
17. My old Laney combo used a fane 15". It was never adverstised as such, but it was, because I took a peep.
18. Well, that was better.. Managed five songs straight through without undue concern. Apparently my bass sounded "Awesome". I was asked to turn down by the drummer, Ha!. Spent the remainder of the session trying to pick up songs by watching the guitarists, with some success. It was easier when we were all attempting to play a new song from scratch. So, I am very happy.
19. Ayup Blackbird!!
20. Well, That was more difficult than I expected. I some how forgot where all the notes were on the fretboard and got lost a lot. By the time I clock what chord the rhythm guitarist is playing and transpose it to my bass the bloody chord changes, and he did not come with a pause button. A bit disappointed in myself to be honest. I could have done with an extra brain. They seemed to be a good bunch of chaps though. Still, I must have done ok as I have been invited back on wednesday for another session. My head is mashed and my fingers are ripped to ribbons.
21. Ayup!
22. Just a local pub rock covers affair, but they have a real drummer and nice PA. (allegedly) Their original bassist has left at short notice and I am perhaps the only other bassist in the area whom is both availiable and has servicable gear, hence I got the gig. My first rehersal is tommorrow. Kacking it a bit, but nothing ventured and all that. Their next proper gig is in a fortnight, some village hall affair. I have a set list to learn if I get on ok. Will keep you posted.
23. The tangle my cables up....
24. It is exactly one millionth of a "be"
25. FFFFfffuu..Kinal... I want this bass... Alas, I have no cash... Nor a decent bass to exchange. It will remain in my dreams.
