But women do not want men to buy them anything secondhand - everyone should know that by now.
You have my word on it that women WILL let you buy them secondhand - provided its a) Worth it Looks new c) Looks like you spent at least 5 times what it actually cost you!
  3. I thought it was very good for his age! I bet most of the comments posted on there were by idiots who cant play half as well now, let alone when they were that young.
  4. That's me too - My parents did, (Mum worked in the Kensitas - remember them? Then you're showing your age! - factory where they got free fags as part of the wages). The smell was enough to put me off for life. She thought I smoked because I bought No 6 when I was 18 - wrong mum, it was to pass round the group cos all my mates did... Hope Simon reads your post - I've been with him 4 1/2 years and he's given up 3 times in that time - all because I nag him to give up, but thanks to the ban he might succeed this time cos he wont be able to smoke in pubs anymore!!

  6.
"Our guide showed us some great little 'shops' (a table outside a villagers house) where we bought local wares (carved ornaments, jewellery). " Yeah funny how often that happens .. and how often the guide knows the stall keeper .
Fuuny you should say that - our guide must know half of Sri Lanka then!
  7. Thanks for remembering this topic Terri! So far I've used them in the garden for tying plants! The jewellery business is a tad slower!

Thanks for the very comprehensive reply! I meant what bass do you have - but you covered that one too! (I dont play bass, but hubby does, and I try to make sensible comments about it!)
  10. Amen to that! They ought to be celebrating it not bewailing the loss of fags. Pity Simon and I will be in Egypt that day, I'd hang the flags out!

  15.
I always liked the sound Greg lake had, (ELP. King crimson etc.) no mean player either.
I HAVE to agree with you on this one, have loved ELP ever since I saw them at the Empire Pool in 1974. Greg Lake is CLASS.
  16.
Sting in the tail! I am now suffering from vertigo, probably as a result of the damage to my ears. I was looking forward to taking my son mountain climbing when he got old enough. Oh well.
Never mind, get HIM to take YOU (he probably will anyway, the younger generation always thinks its parents are useless without a helping hand from them!)
  17. Actually it works if you click on the map - shame the map is so small... How about one just of Britain as well as the whole world one?
  18.
I will have to log on to basschat on holiday, so it comes up on the map!
Some hope - on our last holiday they were still working with videos and a CD threw them...

    hello

Hi Steve, welcome to the new site! Whats your line, as they say?
  21. Linz

    Hi all

Hi Andy, nice to meet you, welcome!
  22. I think your best bet would be to go to Trading Standards and get their advice on the different ways of resolving this matter. I suspect they would be very interested to know that Parcelforce are mis-selling Insurance!
