GBM4...glioblastomas are utterly ruthless cancers. God bless him. My father in law passed from this and, like Neil, despite the horror of the diagnosis, he never felt pain. In the end, my wife was inspired to work for brainstrust, a charity that specialises in supporting patients, their families and their carers. They’re an incredible bunch.

Gumtree Glasgow ESP surveyor jazz bass in candy apple red. From memory...advert was £300. I phoned and haggled down to £250 (subject to inspection) On the pick up day, I head up the Barras where his office is, test out the bass, seems decent, couple of scratches so I ask if he’ll do £225. “Aye...no bother.” So I nip out to the bank/cashline....”Feck! £200 limit!” I phone the wife who was shopping, tell her were I am and ask her to bring £25!. I ran back to the guy, explain what happened, give him £200 and say, “Give it 10 minutes mate.” He just says, “Look, I can’t be be arsed, take it for that as long as you take this bloody case as well! It take some up too much space in here.” I walk out with the bass and an orange fur lined vintage G and G case in great nick (but without keys.) I still have the case!

Had an old Horner Steinberger copy in a case. Was Stopped more than once by the police who thought it was a rifle?
