10. Went for the DiMarzio model one with 4 band active and a 5 way tone selector. Sounds huge, very growly but the eq and slider means its pretty darn versatile. Will get some clips up ASAP. I cannot stress how much bass you get for your money from this guy.
 11. Well peeps, after some cash flow issues and waiting for parts to arrive she is finally here. World meet my Harts Custom Grabber. One word. Insane.

She is looking brilliant!! In answer to the guys who want to know the cost; Its on a pay as you go sort of basis so I wont really know till its done. I know he is quoting £900-£1000 for some of the guitars he has built. Inbox me for details if you want.

That grain is too awesome!
Fear not Darkstrike, she will be in all her glory! Few more pics, scratchplate, fingerboard, headstock and Walnut for the body.
 14.
DiMarzio did a humbucker sized bass jobbie which a friend had in his Grabber copy. Just the ticket, I should think.
Was it the Model one per chance? Like this bad boy? http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/my-new-gr...r-build-728351/
 15.
Easy things first - the Grabber slider: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=260750391208 The original Grabber pickup mounts with four screws and is a humbucker. Also used in the 80s on the Gibson Q-80, and the Explorer bass. Some useful info here: http://www.flyguitars.com/gibson/bass/grabber_techinfo.php and here: http://www.flyguitars.com/gibson/bass/parts/pickup/#18
Cheers for that mate, he is making the slider himself so housing shouldn't be too much of an issue. Is there anything new that you think will be tonally comparable?
 16. hey peeps. In need of some advice, I'm having a Custom Grabber built (see build diaries - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=126724 ) and I'm on the hunt for the right pickup. Anyone have any ideas what would do the job? We are recreating the slider as well. Olly
