1. If I'd had a bit more cash when putting my rig together, I'd have had it in an instant. That much power in something that light is obscene. Good luck with the sale
2. Haha, I'm so easily swayed :/
3. Ahaha, oh dear, gotta love typos. But to clear things up, the bass isn't a Jew ¬_¬ Not gonna edit it, I'll lose the humour
4. Thinking about getting a 1u rear mounted 13 amp PDU instead. More versatile than IEC sockets. And I don't really NEED the light ;p
5. Only gigged it in that one venue, where all 4 bass players had a slightly suspect tone that night IMO, me included. Sounded a bit odd. Possibly something to do with the room, as it isn't the tone I've been getting in practices. When I finish the new rig, I'll really muck about with it a lot until I get it perfect though ^_^ What I can say is that it has a totally different 'voice' to the Conklin I had. It is a lot less gentile! As I mentioned before, I'm thinking very seriously about getting a nice compressor pedal to try and tame it all down a bit! The LEDs were a godsend in that place though. Was very dark!
Excellent action picturs mate!!! So tell us how you are gettig on with the mighty beast!!?? Sounding good live?
6. I think I'll pass actually, I'nm just getting tempted by shiny lights I can't really afford Good luck with the sale The stuff that's come out of this rack is in very good condition though people, buy from Dan with confidence
7. I'm very tempted to take this from you as well actually D:
8. Just to 'finish off' the story, here are a few pictures of the bass' debut appearance! LEDs don't show up with the flash, but you get the idea. You also get to see the fizzog behind this bass! Our drummer lol ^_^
9. I can answer that for you as soon as I get a new cab to hook mine up through! Don't know when you'll have yours up and running? To be honest though, it won't sound like an SVT. The SVP can only ever give you preamp distortion, unlike a full blown SVT, which will give poweramp distortion too. I'm still interested to see what mine will sound like as well!
10. Let us know how you get on with the fanned frets. I'd be curious to try them on a 7! If I get another 7, I'd definitely want something a bit more 'off the wall', as for all its beauty, my Shuker is a very standard, workhorse bass. Fanned frets might fit into that slightly oddball category
11. Noice. Kind of makes you realise how small the Schroeder cab is!
12. I prefer the sound of mic'd bass anyway. Most (not all) soundguys I've met seem resistant to this. I can see why the pure signal from your bass is easiest to manipulate to get the right sound for the room, but if they ask me to boost or cut a frequency a bit, I'll be more than happy to help if it works for the acoustics of the room. Meh. Most of the time the punters don't notice, and I'm not listening to FoH anyway...
13. Is that a threat? ;<
14. I do want a Headrush, but funds aren't stretching at the moment. If its still around in a few weeks, I *might* go for it D:
15. Very nice chappy, sold me a poweramp at a good price, and even met me in Sheffield on a trip between his home and his practice room to save us both the hassle of postage. Easy transaction, would do it again (Haven't plugged the amp in to check it works yet, though )
16. The Whammy is one of my favourite pedals, but it has its own sound. Nothing else is as good at being a Whammy pedal, so if that is what you want, then get it. However, the harmony/octave settings are for the most part not very 'natural' IMO. It is a sound you'll either like or you won't! Try it out first
17. Any pictures? Possibly interested in this
18. Haha, is it me, or does there seem to be a lot similar sales regarding this power/pre stuff between the same people, meaning everyone gets what they want recently? I'm liking it
19. Possibly, but I'd rather he knocked me one up with a smile :/
I wonder if he could knock me up one of those 2x15's with a horn...! hmm
20. Why would you import from a luthier in the States? Luthiers in England make them
21. Sorry if you already have a thread Kyle, but I couldn't find one Anyway, just sold him my Conklin GTBD-7. Transaction was very smooth, communication was good, and the only worries came from UPS, not Kyle! Wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again - hope the transaction was as smooth the other way
