I think the simplest option is to get hold of both second hand, try them out extensively, and then either keep both if I'm feeling self-indulgent, or flip one on for what I bought it for
would be fully gay. kt88's add so much awesomeness to the sound
Good thing I've already got the big one then. Small head would be super convenient though.
Maybe. The theory is great... If it did tighten up the subs then I'd be all for it... I don't want to gamble on it though. If any kind basschatter fancies lending me one for a week shout up!!!
I'm not using mine at the moment. If you want to borrow it for a few days I'm cool with that if you cover postage PM me.

Both these pedals seem to do pretty similar things. Anyone used both of them and have any insight to offer? I'm kind of intrigued. Mostly for direct recording to computer for demos, but possibly also as a compact gig solution. Do either of them react badly to being in a blend loop too? Don't want no phase nonsense!

I know it won't be one, but how awesome would a GT200 pre with a light class D power section be?
I'm tempted by the Thumpinator as well... But being that my aim is to generate loads of sub from my huge chain I worry that using it before the effects chain will be pointless given how much sub generating stuff comes after, and using it at the end of the chain will effect the sub tones I generate? Shep
Your cabs almost certainly don't properly generate the frequencies that the thumpinator is cutting out. You'd be hard pushed to find a lot of PAs in venues that most of us play that can REALLY handle that kind of frequency properly too. I think if anything it would tighten your sub sound up. YMMV.
the new small amp in a couple of weeks, has he spoken to you about that looking forward to trying it out.
Tell me more.

Pretty sure that's the cost of a GT200. Might have got the wrong end of the stick when you started talking about bass D: You're best off phoning them if you didn't already. It'll probably be Jeff who answers, and Jeff knows his cabs.

Don't forget the Turbo Tuner!

I'm actually really interested in the new MXR one that's coming out. It looks pretty cool I'm only just really starting to get to grips with compression after a long time just fumbling with it, and I would agree that depending on what you're using it for, either a compressor with a limiter, or a standalone limiter to accompany it is really useful for shaping a consistent bass sound.

Big stages? You're a two piece! You have the whole stage to yourself pretty much once the drums are set up, I don't see it ever being a problem

Me and our guitarist both used to have pretty full Tourmans. We ended up taking two long sections of 2x4 to every gig, and just slipped them under the back edge. Hah.
Folks - Ideas for 'slanting' my massive pedalboard. I use a diago tourman and need to use something to place under the back of the board so it slopes up slightly. Sounds simple, but ti much be something that a heavy board won't slide off on a solid stage floor when I push against the pedals at the back where its raised. Must also be something that will fit in a bag with my stuff, so a number of small wedges maybe? Shep
Yeah, I have a decent comprehension of Reaper's routing I think (not the best, but I'm still learning!). Right now in this project I basically have my drum tracks all grouped together in one 'folder' (Steven Slate Drums, so they're a VST in themselves), with a compressor on the master bus, but I've not processed them any further yet, so that will add more instances of VSTs when I start EQ'ing etc. Then I have a few tracks of bass, which all have impulse response plugins and EQ/amp sims. They're all in one grouping, but I can't condense the number of VSTs any further there as each track uses different VST settings. I also have a bunch of guitar tracks that are grouped together, which are equally all using different instances of VSTs on each track. I don't think I can get away with using less, and I was hoping to avoid having to bounce things down when I'm still working on stuff, but I'll have more of a play. I'll definitely look at the ctrl/alt/p thingy too! Cheers

If I use too many VSTs in a project on Reaper, my playback starts stuttering, which makes it hard to do much more. If I turn stuff off, then it works fine again. I'm cool with that, as I don't need everything on all the time. But is there a way of seeing which VSTs use how much CPU, so I know which ones it is most efficient to leave off etc? I use Reaper. Thanks

I'd love to have more money to sink into this kind of thing. There are some awesome DnB sounds that I'd love to try to recreate if I had the spare cash for the pedals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk81RisVHJo That's one of them. Dubtastic!

Super easy transaction, and Dan held the pedal a few days for me until I was paid. Well packed, and special delivery - can't complain at all

I have a feeling my GT200 would like this pedal too. Ohwwwww, I'm way too poor!

What would your ideal Class D amp be if you could spec it yourself?
Finbar replied to Clarky's topic in Amps and Cabs
The problem with that is that in small gigs access to the mute pull on the LMT Master vol can be inaccessible, so a lead out of the tuner out to the tuner is fine EXCEPT you have no way of silent tuning.
Bass -> Tuner -> Amp I don't understand how that doesn't give you silent tuning. -
Used to have a Peavy Megabass amp with that Peavey cab, which did the biamp thing along with chorus that was OK. Hardly D Class weight though!! Just picked up an LMT from For Sale, and as ever it is running EQ flat & no filters. What I would really like (and was about to start a thread on but will put it here) is a footswitchable mute. Used to have it on my old Trace combo and it was good for a quick mute & tune using any old lead and a Roland non latching footswitch. So many amps (like the MB heads) have is a tuner out that you can feed a tuner outside of a long loop, but the amp is not muted so there is no chance of a surreptitious check in the odd quiet bit
If you're happy to have a footswitch anyway, you may was well just stick a tuner pedal on the floor by your amp. -
Looks like possible Moog LPF competition?

Very easy transaction with Manos throughout from my end Good communications, and prompt payment. Don't hesitate to deal with him just because he's overseas from most of us!

There's a Gator one I used to use for my GT6-B, which is about £30. I THINK that should fit, but I'm not 100% certain. Swan Flightcase also do a case for the 500. It's flightcase stylee, not padded bag, and it's about 70 quid I think?
