Watching. This could turn out to be the most watched and least wanted Stingray 5 on ebay ever. Slagging off potential buyers has to be one of the dumbest ideas ever. I'm tempted to ask him what else besides the X Factor he thinks "one brain celled trollites" like to watch.
The intro sounds kinda synthy to me. The first "solo" could be nailed with an ibby phat head. Second solo sounds filtered. How many years later and he still cant pull this off. Sloppy
Metallica are fairly sloppy, or 'loose' live in general anyway. Any band with Lars Ulrich on drums wouldn't really have a choice. I've seen them make a few big cock ups when I've seen them. Still awesome though.

Guys, it's okay, it comes with a serial number.

Or are your bass lines walking all over the keys/piano player's left hand parts? [/devilsadvocate]

Doesn't he play for Liverpool? I've heard that their Mark King at corners hasn't been very good.
It's also worth remembering that (courtesy of a thread yesterday) there is also one on EBay for a mere £500!!! I'd say this one is a very good deal, not a great deal but almost
But that has a rosewood thumbrest, don't forget.

Our guitarist was obsessed with covering Black Night for ages, he would try and get it started every rehearsal. For a while we humoured him but it soon got old. I think he got the message when it got to the point that none of us bothered joining in.
dolphin music have that kit up for just over £1800 brand new
No they don't. Try £2,689 for what I think is a model down from Samba's. So who talks to you when you get off stage?
Maverick replied to Cat Burrito's topic in General Discussion
We once came off stage at a battle of the bands type thing and one of the other bands, a fairly young bunch, were telling us how great we were and that they'd listened to our stuff before the show via the event website and really liked itl yadda yadda yadda. What they didn't know was that my missus had been stood near them during the gig, and had noted a few choice snide remarks and the fact that none of them had voted for us (or as we later noticed, anyone else for that matter), whilst all the other bands (ourselves included) seemed to be voting quite fairly. They were on a band or two after us and clearly loved themselves, but they were pretty mediocre truth be told. After they finished they came back clearly expecting some praise off us and we just totally blanked them, although quite annoyingly our guitarist was a bit p*ssed by this point and had voted for them, git. -
In one band we rehearse in a commercially ran rehearsal studio, but with my other we rehearse in a cheap and cheerful (tiny, but fully equipped) practice room that's ran by a music society at my old uni.

Just a quick one, but has anyone actually reported this as a scam to gumtree?

Metallica's Trujillo Rescues Jaco Pastorius' Bass of Doom
Intrigued. What did he do??
Re-recorded over his parts on Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman so that Ozzy could avoid paying the royalties that Bob was owed (Mike Bordin also re-did the drums). Personally, thought Jason was a much better fit for Metallica than Rob. -
You'd be crazy to miss out on this bargain!

As it's what I've mostly been listening to today - free EP from Trent Reznor's new project anyone? http://www.howtodestroyangels.com/ Might not be everyone here's cup of tea, but if you like NIN then you might like it. I wasn't sure at first, but I've just listened to it through about 4 times in a row and now love it.

Ahh, I've spent a good few hours on the Warmoth site. I'm thinking something like: J Bass body. Swamp Ash, or Alder in Candy or Dakota red with black binding, black pearloid pickguard with top routed control cavity (standard jazz plate type), or walnut in a clear finish with rear routed control cavity. Pickups: MM Bridge, Jazz neck. Nordstrands maybe. Preamp: 3 band active, vol, vol and a switch for all of the coil options on the MM pickup. Hardware: Black; Badass bridge, Hipshot tuners with a drop tuner for the E string, straplocks. And for the piece de resistance; Status graphite fretted jazz bass neck. I roughly priced all that up once and, well let's say I won't be affording it any time soon though. A guy can dream though, I reckon that'd make an absolute beast of a bass. Or a total monstrosity!

Vintage MIJ (formerly J@pCr@p) Spotting
Westone Thunder III. I really like the way this looks from the front, with the dark finish with wood grain. And the proper through neck. But look 5 days further back, and it appears that the same bass went for £200: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Westone-Thunder-3-Ac...6#ht_500wt_1182 -

Dammit, I'd love to go but that's going to be right in the middle of exams!

The bass amps at the rehearsal studio I go to are all Ashdowns also, head + 4x10 cab from the ABM series I think. I hate them, I find it next to impossible to get a decent sound out of them, I've tried twiddling with pretty much everything and all I can get at an actual useable volume is boomy mush with absolutely no definition and nothing resembling cutting through whatsoever. I bought an EBS Microbass II preamp off a basschatter, and I now put that straight into the effects return to bypass the Ashdown's preamp and it sounds blooming marvellous, my whole band noticed the difference the moment I started using it. I really got it for live use where I'm DI'ing but it's really come into its own already. I know the Ashdowns are quite popular amps - I'd like to know where I was going wrong? They surely can't be that bad, but I found them pretty useless.
