  1. I believe the knobs DO have notches, but in tiny graduations, so a stepped pot rather than a multiposition switch.
  2. Master is the main volume control - i.e. the volume for the power amp section. So you adjust the overall volume with that. If you look at it, you will see the master is labelled at approximate power output levels, with 0W, 40W, 160W etc marked on the dial. Gain is the preamp volume control - so that allows you to set the input to suit the level coming from yout bass/DI box to prevent the pre being overdriven (unless you want it to be).
  3. Yes, just buy that Genx 212.
  4. I'd forgotten the speaker was an Alpha.
  5. Can't imagine it's that lightweight - non neo speaker, 18mm ply.....
  6. Go on.... and then have multicoloured pulsing LEDs..... even better, do a freless with perspex fretlines and LED them up
  7. Should have done clear perspex then you could rig up some LEDs to shine through it!!!
  8. I really like my Genz NEOX212T, but am thinking of changing over to a 2 x 1x12 solution to make things a bit more flexible - but I have NEVER had a problem hearing myself.
  9. Phil, out of interest I tried firing up WinISD to see the graph you get with these numbers (46l box, 55Hz tuning). To get the same port length I needed to take the box volume down to just over 40l - so I assume the 6l difference is you taking account of the driver and port volume?
  10. ...because you can't display PDFs inline. You would need to put them up as JPGs.
  11. For those tempted to go in this direction, Electromarket have a 10% off voucher (REWARD10) running at the moment - they stock a lot of RCF stuff.... No affiliation, just passing on the info!
  12. This sounds like a great idea.
  13. Great video!
  14. Probably needed more heat than the hairdryer could produce.
  15. Yes, it works a treat. Try hair dryer first though - hot air gun can be a little too aggressive (I once nearly melted grillcloth by being too enthusiastic)
  16. They almost look like mother of pearl at first glance!
  17. No - we had it installed. Here it is fairly soon after installation (with a diddy 1x8 cab I knocked together) ...it has dulled down and gone silver/grey now though. Bloody heavy stuff!
  18. Nice looking shape!
  19. I have a whole decking area made from Purpleheart.... when we move house I'm tempted to whip a few boards up and take them with me....
  20. Awwww - my first bass was a Guvnor Jazz copy, bought for me from a seondhand shop by a friend after I'd said "if I ever played anything, I'd want to play bass". Have to admit I sold it on after I got my G&L....

    First post of the thread.....
  22. From memory the inserts are smooth inside rather than splined, so I assume they are of a diameter that accepts all shaft types.
  23. Excellent! Glad to have played a tiny part in helping this come to fruition. Can't remember what sort of shaft your pots have - splined?
  24. Phew! I've been on tenterhooks with everything crossed for you. Excellent stuff! WIth a beast of a 15" driver it was never going to be super lightweight, but at least it's a lot lighter than the old one!
