1. A highly recommended bass from a trustworthy basschat'er! I know this bass very well. Classic Warwick tones. Incredible note clarity throughout. Tight B string and good balance for a 6 string. Good luck with the sale Steven. If I didn't have a July tax bill I would have made you an offer :-)
2. Any music shops located around Belfast that have a nice selection of bass gear then please give shop names, and links if possible! Many thanks
3. I've had this amp for a few months now and I'm loving it. So authentically 'valve-like', even sounding like it has a valve power stage (yet so light). I never use a tuner send but my only negative comment I have about it is that it doesn't have a standby/mute switch, so when DI'd through the desk, I have to mute the desk's channel before I shut the down the bass amp's power. This hasn't spoiled using the amp though, and a satisfying tone is almost instant with all of my basses. Good luck with the sale!
4. Epifani do an ultralite 4 ohm 2x12. Aguilar GS212 is quite a deep sounding cab with snappy highs. The DB212 is warmer with a more pronounced midrange. Both recommended!
5. Still loving this amp....but I see Markbass just displayed a prototype 800 watt version at NAMM....
6.
Thought this would be long gone by now. Someone buy it so my credit card stops itching!
There's definitely a lot of interest, that's for sure!
7.
Is it still for sale??
Yes it is Leighton!
8. The head made my gig last night! Super tight midrange when required. Smooth top end (in that old Ampeg way). The 'Colour' control really brought out the Motown tones, especially with a touch of the Compressor, speaking of which, made the occasional slapped parts rich and 'spike'-free. Something I've had a problem with when using lightweight digital amps through my 12s. I recommend trying one on a gig asap! Sweet talk your local dealer into letting it out the shop over a weekend.
9.
bump for an awesome little head, wish i had the cash!!!
Thanks Leighton. I'll keep bumping the post but I'm still happy owning it
10.
I was in GAK a few months ago when a dude was returning one for not being loud enough. Think he went away with an Ampeg head (1200 watt jobbie?) I thought it sounded great when they fired it up in the shop to test it.
I've learned not to get my hopes up too much...so many disappointments over the years!
11.
Why not use an old trusted amp for the gig and tinker around with this at rehearsals.
Thanks I know what you mean, but our rehearsals are really for practicing new songs. I'll need to bring it on a gig to see how how it handles the increasing volume throughout the night, and the breadth of styles in the repertoire. Tonight will be the time to find out...
12. Hi all I've just picked this amp up at Kenny's Music in Dunfermline - Scotland's only official Markbass stockist. Has anyone got one yet? I'll be doing a club gig with it tomorrow night through my two Aguilar GS112s. I could do with a bit of user advice to see how the 'Colour' control (which I believe is like the VLE control found on other Markbass heads) affects the other controls, such as the EQ and the Compressor. Lawrie
13. My favourite amp! Good luck with the sale - L
14. I've played this great amp. Clean and mighty!!! 3U high but only half the depth of a regular rackmount amp
15. Hi Kevin I am selling my Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 head: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/163580-for-saletrade-aguilar-tone-hammer-500-th500/ Not entirely sure I'd replace it for an amp of this weight, but I'd be willing to swap amps for a weekend?
16.
How about my.....
