  1. I had one for a while and I'm afraid I sold it because it felt and sounded 'too sterile'. I know that is a subjective feeling so I hope you enjoy yours.
  2. Looks like 4Kg on the bathroom scales.
  3. Squier Vintage Modified 5 string Precision - made in Indonesia. New flats and recently set up. Fender logo’d gig bag Only selling as I injured two of my fingers in a saw, and I need to sell all my stuff to pay the bills whilst they repair. I’ve always tried to avoid Fender shaped basses (I like to be different , but I really do like this bass. It just feels and sounds ‘right’.
  4. No idea, sorry. I have difficulty enough playing root notes
  5. Made in Italy. The covering in a bit 'fluffy'. I'm assuming the last owner used a lot of velcro on it, but it works perfectly. I bought this last year but as I'm not in a band and have just stuck 2 of my fingers into a circular saw, I need to sell my stuff to pay the bills.
  6. I've had this up for sale before but couldn't bring myself to sell it, but I've just introduced 2 of my fingers to an electric circular saw so am unable to work for several weeks (and being self employed, means the bills have got to be paid by selling my gear). It's got a Schaller 3d 5 string bridge and a hipshot ultralight extra tuner. I've also changed the position of the strap button so it hangs better. It has a Gibson hard case and the original bridge if wanted.
  7. Identical to the Stagg EUB. I'm afraid I don't have the screw in 'brackets' on the side. Comes with fur lined carry case (and a stand, if required). I've just exchanged this with someone for the 5 string conversion one I had as I thought this might be easier to sell. The reason for selling - I've never got round to playing it live and I've just introduced 2 of my fingers to an electric circular saw, and being self employed and now not able to work for a few weeks, everything has to go to pay the bills.
  8. Yup, it's a 'common' thing to do (plus I think Rick themselves did something very similar back in the day ie. just added the tuner. I don't think a complete refinish is necessary for a tuner hole though. The bridge is in the same place and someone who knew what they were doing could match in the tuner hole quite easily if you wanted showroom condition.
  9. It's been so long since I had a 4003 that I don't remember the difference in sound. I think Bass Bross has a 4004 in at the moment. I understand that the 4004L (this one) is a little brighter than the 4004C (but don't quote me on that). What I can say is that they are far, far more comfortable to play than the 'traditional' 4001/3.
  10. DR Downtune strings - designed for what it says on the tin
  11. I found the bridge on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203709875867?var=504146879934 - string spacing is 15mm. The nut is 43mm I tried the Schaller 5 string bridge but the spacing was too wide for the neck, so that ended up on my non-reverse Thunderbird. Hope that helps
  12. I bought this bass a couple of years ago and had it converted to a 5 string. I absolutely adore it in every way possible, but finances are dire at the moment, so this &/or my Gibson non-reverse thunderbird 5 string conversion have to go It comes with the official Rickenbacker hard case I can fit the original Schaller 3d bridge and the brass nut it came with as well as putting a dowel in the tuner hole and painting this (though the paint wont look like it did from the factory) if you want it converted back to a 4 stringer. I'll be devestated that both of these basses have to go, but needs must.
  13. No, sorry. Could meet at South Mimms Services at top of M25 (2 1/4 hours for you and 1 3/4 hours for me) for some diesel money.......
  14. I've had two 5 stringed ones and stupidly sold them both. Loved them (especially the road worn one) Now i want another one buit I'm skint :((((((((
  15. Sorry no. I sold mine and now have a 4004L converted to a 5 stringer but it doesn’t have a pick guard and I’ve a triangular rickenbacker 5 string pickup in my explorer / Thunderbird homemade hybrid.
  16. I bought this bass a couple of years ago and had it converted to a 5 string. I absolutely adore it in every way possible, but finances are dire at the moment, so this &/or my Gibson non-reverse thunderbird 5 string conversion have to go It comes with all the case candy, official Rickenbacker hard case etc etc. There's hardly a mark on it except for behind one of the the tuners where I've touched it up. I can fit the original Schaller 3d bridge and the brass nut it came with as well as putting a dowel in the tuner hole and painting this (though the paint wont look like it did from the factory) if you want it converted back to a 4 stringer. I'll be devestated that both of these basses have to go, but needs must. PS. The sticker easily comes off PPS. I might be able to deliver/meet up 1/2 way etc. etc. to save on postage/courier issues
  17. Convert it to a 5 stringer like I've done with my Rick 4004L. Dead easy to do
  18. I’ve been looking for one of these for years. Just when I’m broke this one shows up
  19. That’s my old bass. If I had the readies I’d have it back GLWTS.
  20. Nope
  21. It’s a 4 stringer converted to a 5. Schaller tuners have been changed to generic ones
