1. Black leather front and back. 130cm to 150cm long and 10cm wide Bought from Thomann earlier this year but hardly used.
2. Having had an A4 and B4 and now have a Jeff Berlin Rithimic V and can say I think that they are superb instruments, I can't wait to see these new ones in the flesh.
3. I got the sack from my old originals band after the drummer decided he wasn't turning up to a gig at the 100 Club so the others thought it would be fun to do it acoustically and how about I played on a double bass (for the very first time). Fingers bled and it wasn't a total disaster but somehow I got the blame, and not the drummer, for not getting a record contract. Needless to say I sold the double bass. However. This year my wife saw me looking at a 5 string double on eBay and surprised me for my birthday last month with a large cheque to buy it. It's beautiful. Can't play a damn thing in tune on it yet, and even though I play 5 string electric, that low B on a double is like the kind of cable they use to tow ships with, so don't think that'll be used much.
4. This is the Pro Series assembled in Korea with German parts. I got this last year and must say it is probably the most beautiful bass I have ever seen. The problem is that I don't play it enough to warrant having it sitting here looking beautiful, and bills have to be paid. It comes with a hardcase and Warwick straplocks / paperwork etc.
5. I use reflective waterproof tape (from Halfords) and make the markers with a hole punch.

7. OMG. Wonderful.
8. Why didn't you do it this last weekend. I've just come back from Cardiff. Hope it goes well and perhaps I'll manage it next year.
9.
I have put a Wilkinson Vintage bridge on mine. A lot more substantial than the BBOT and the Brass Saddles look a lot better. It does seem to make a difference in the sustain department. For just over £20 it was money well spent IMHO.
I did look at those but they didn't seem any different to what was already on the bass. I'll have a look more closely
10. Would sticking something like a hipshot bridge make any difference (apart from looks) to my VM Precision V? Reading up (on t'internet), sustain seems to be improved but not a lot else. I'm perfectly happy with the BBOM but wondered about the opinions of basschatters? Also would changing the saddles to brass on the BBOM make any difference? (I'd rather not spend any extra money if it doesn't really make much of a change).
11. Thanks for your help. We'll look into that
12. Depends on the venue - we don't have a desk so we either get one in or use whatever is available
13. OK, I've read through the last 25 pages and loads of different names (or should I say, letters and numbers that don't make any sense unless you actually know what you are talking about - which I don't) of different systems have been mentioned. I know the gear4music system ( http://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Wireless-In-Ear-Monitor-System-Pack-by-Gear4music-3-Receivers/164T plus 2 extra receivers ) is cheap but there are 5 of us in the band and can't afford much more. Is it adequate for most general uses ie. pubs and weddings
14. Sperzel USA matt chrome locking tuners. There are 5 of them and they are reversible so you can have whatever configuration you want.
15. I totally agree - absolutely beautiful (and many many thanks for doing the exchange for it - you don't want it back, do you?). The problem is that it just isn't being used enough (not usually an issue but some big bills need paying
16. I had DR Sunbeams on my Warwick Starbass V (in the for sale section at the moment but wasn't getting the sound I wanted, so put some red labels on. It took a few days for the feel to 'feel right' but I can see no reason to go back to £30 - £50 strings as the Warwicks sound brilliant
17. 8 1/2 lbs (so about 3.85 kg - give or take) on our non digital bathroom scales.
18. I used to use DR Sunbeams but am now very happy with these:
I got on with Warwick Reds (£11.50 a set on Stringbusters) on my MIM Jazz. They sounded fine and seemed to last well.
19. I got this last year from basschat and must say it is probably the most beautiful bass I have ever seen. The problem is that I don't play it enough to warrant having it sitting here looking beautiful, and bills have to be paid. It comes with a hardcase (Epiphone Jack Casady version) and I've added an extra strap button higher up the body to help with balance (it now balances pretty well). It comes with Warwick straplocks and paperwork etc.
20. As far as GUS goes, Simon Farmer has (I think) finished making the G3 bass he had started making for Prince (I understand a collector got in touch with him and said he would buy it - for an undisclosed sum) and is also in the process of making a limited run of Prince G1 guitars, on top of his new G5 model. It would be typical that soon Gus guitars will cost an absolute fortune to buy just when I've had to (for financial reasons) had to get rid of my collection at a loss
21. I bought this from Bass Direct a few months ago for £845 (knocked down from £1125 but it has Jeff Berlin's signature on the back of the headstock - signed by him at a clinic at Bass Direct - thereby making it shop soiled). Only weighs 8 1/2 lbs (so about 3.85 kg - give or take) on our non digital bathroom scales. Old (tatty but solid) hard case that cost £50 included The specs and pictures are here: http://www.bassdirec..._Rithmic_V.html and I hope Skol303 doesn't mind me using his review: http://basschat.co.u...rlin-signature/
