I bought the isolate titanium ones and couldn't hear the higher notes of the guitar at all. Attenuated the bass, drums and keys beautifully but not much good if you can't hear the guitar
2016 is just taking the piss now. F**k this f**king sh*t year. Relentless attrition from one f***ing end to the other. Sorry about the swearing. I'm upset and angry because bits of my youth keep dying.

Yes weight please. Also what do the controls do?

If you answered the guys on what the controls do, you might be closer to a sale. Almost a year now?! :-/ Documents more time details Tell us what makes it a good bass- as to most, have never heard of Dick Dijkman or seen this bass. Take more pictures I'd even consider updating your profile too, to show where you at least come from. Hopefully a sale soon
Because you didn't answer these questions before I bought another bass elsewhere (which I might not have done if you had answered the questions).

I can't put my Cort Jeff Berlin Rithmic V down. It's passive and weighs around the 9lb mark. Don't be put off by the Cort or Jeff Berlin names (if you're not a fan of either - seeing as Cort build Lakland's, Ibanez etc etc etc they know what they are doing). Top quality bass.

I bought it for bass here on Basschat from a bass player - Here's a review of it for bass - http://www.ovnilab.c...s/squishy.shtml Also just found this post - think it's who I bought it from. They seemed happy enough (as did another basschatter) http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2704169 Search Mr Squishy on the Basschat forums. there's a few mentions of it on here -
Just bought a Fender amp from Chris. Great communication. He offered to meet halfway, which was extremely helpful. Will happily do deals with again. Many thanks

Having been in two bands where one was downtuned to Eb and the other was in standard tuning, 5 strings made total sense. Now I'm in one band in standard tuning but not being a virtuoso I find it so much easier to play. For straightforward stuff I pretty much stay around the fifth fret and am not having to move up and down the fretboard (and therefore screwing up either notes or my timing). It also sounds pretty good, looks the dogs doohdahs and it's not heavy either.

I've just had this delivered by Bass Direct and I must say it is superb. The balance is just so and I can't put it down (plus, it has Jeff Berlin's signature on the back of the headstock - whoopee I've copied Skol303's post (I hope he doesn't mind) on his because he has said everything I could possible say about it, but I must reiterate that this bass is something pretty good (and I've had everything from a couple of £7000 GUS G3 basses to USA and Japanese Fenders and even my YOB bass, a 1964 Gibson EB0 and IMO this beats all of them) http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2974263

I absolutely love it (but then I used to be a GUS player, so metal tubing on an instrument isn't new to me).

I remember seeing him in the 1980's at the Albert Hall. He had two beautiful backing singers. During one of their singing parts he nonchalantly walked up behind them (you couldn't see his hands) and the next moment both girls jumped. He walked back to his mic and carried on singing whilst they both did a mixture of glaring at him but smiling at the same time. In an interview in the Times a week or two later the reporter heard one of the backing singers complaining about something or other that wasn't being done and shouting who she would have to f**k to get it sorted. Cohen just turned to the reporter and casually said 'that'll be me then' and smiled. Nothing like the 'music to cut your wrists to' persona in real life. A wonderful sense of humour and a great poet.

I bought this used but perfect condition neckthru Streamer earlier this year from Wunjos for £600 (RRP £850) as I was looking for something lightweight (about 8 1/2 lbs). I immediately had the preamp, pots and wiring changed to German Warwick 3 way preamp (bass, middle and treble) and stacked pickup balance/volume knob which cost me £200, but the band I'm in at the moment needs a more 'classic sound' so I'm either after a trade for something lightweight(ish) and classic (but a 5 string) or a sale. It's an absolutely wonderful bass to play and looks almost new it's in such good condition. Well balanced and light for a 5 stringer. Comes with a brand new Fender gigbag (that's what they gave me at Wunjos) and Warwick straplocks.
I struggle to look at basses with a pick guard that looks like it's off something else, I get that that is the point. Seafoam with a musicman pickup and a black 3 ply guard made to follow the body and pickups, pop on a fifth string and that might be pretty cool!
This, plus semi-hollow (to keep the weight down to near 8lbs) and an f hole (because I'm a sucker for one of those)

If you were going to buy a P bass, what model would you get?
6feet7 replied to fretmeister's topic in Bass Guitars
An early '80's Tokai Hardpuncher with Lindy Fralin pickups and badass bridge. The lightest, most resonant, perfect sounding P bass I've ever heard. Unfortunately it was Fender shaped (so I wont play it, out of principal) and a 4 string (I play 5).
