1. I'm tempted to get one of these and put an unlined fretless Mighty Mite neck on it. I'd put the Squier neck on a P/J that I have. That said, for now I may just see if anyone has a neck from a Precision CV they want to sell...
2. I think Clarky has a black Aerodyne for sale on here...
3. I think my favourite bass tone from the period is Joe Bouchard's, who played with Blue Oyster Cult. In particular, I'm thinking of the 'Secret Treaties' album.
4. The production of it has alot to do with it too. I'd say you're not hearing the actual sound of the amp and bass. It's gone through a process via the mixing desk before it gets to you
5. Get a plectrum and whack the hell out of the strings for 15 minutes or so - good exercise too!
6. The action on mine's about 5mm at the 12th fret.
7. I wouldn't worry too much about getting a super-low action with a fretless. Lower tension strings are always going to buzz when the action is low. Higher tension ones seem prone to thwacking too (but maybe I play too hard). Aside from that, it may be the neck that's not helping too. Are the strings making any slight marks where you're getting the buzzing?
8. How long has the EHX Bassballs been in circulation? Anyway, David J was the player who inspired me to take up the fretless. I'm still a big fan of Bauhaus, as well as one of the side projects to come from them (Tones On Tail).
9.
From the US, but an interesting thing IMHO. And in all the text, there's a massive metaphoric pond for Jon to fish for bullsh*t. I suspect he'll catch a few bigguns. But not the shoddy repainting of the body!
10. Well, if you just decide to sell the neck as is, let me know
11. I bought a Line 6 Bass Pod XT from him last week. The whole deal went through very smoothly and the Pod arrived safe and sound!
Beautiful.
Cheers! The photo makes it a little prettier than it actuallly is. It's got chips in the paint, various scratches, and one of the pots is a bit slippery. I rescued it from a student flat a few years ago, and it looked alot worse then

Here's my 1990 MIJ Fender...
15. If you have to wait I'd get them to knock something off the price in order to make up for the inconvenience.
16. You don't have to play a bass chaotically for them to appear. Play the strings in a normal way several hundred times and you're going to get some marks being made by the plectrum below those strings once in a while. It adds up over time.
17. Aurora made a few for me awhile bacj and they were poor or bloody awful quality. E-mails to them about a refund for the latter go unanswered too
18.
I know it's been suggested that these are reported to FEEBay, but there needs to be a very high level of certainty before that happens. Food for thought I guess.
Yeah, but this is one of the more blatant examples of fraud.
19. Looks like a rebadged modern Squier to me...

21. Was it in that condition when you bought it? By that, I mean did it have the thumbrest and the baseball bat switch? Also, is the last fret marker (at the body end of the neck) indented, or is that just the photo?
22. Do you have any actual photos of the kit itself?
23. This is where we need FlatEric... That said, some might say that the additions (thumbrest and the pickup selector switch) might sway the price slightly...
24. Here's another use for tape (by Bourbonese Qualk)...
