Sorry not "Yes" related. Posting this as this thread seems to have migrated to band line up discussions. So, on Nile Rodgers Facebook page: A quick respectful note about CHIC for those whom don't seem to understand our concept, which has been the same since it's inception. I think I had too many cups of coffee this morning. The CHIC Organization was the vessel created by Bernard Edwards and myself to perform our compositions. Think jazz groups or orchestras. When players move on or pass away, the NY Philharmonic or the Modern Jazz Quartet doesn't change it's name. The organization still performs their repertoire. Just as the director of a symphony orchestra it's my responsibility to keep the quality of CHIC functioning at the highest level possible. In all my 40 years plus, I've never heard a journalist say The Mahavishnu Orchestra is not The Mahavishnu Orchestra when Billy Cobham left or when Jerry Goodman, Jean-Luc Ponty or Gayle Moran came in and out. Is this still a form of intellectually snobbery that my great teachers at Jazzmobile purged me of when I was a mere teenager? Everyone but r&b, pop and dance music composers are held to a higher standard. At best it's an accidental shame. At worst it's deliberate. ~ #NileRodgers

Quality of sound becoming less important?
zzaass replied to paulpirie8's topic in General Discussion
Take a phono lead out of the back and plug it into your stereo, I've been doing this for years. Stereo, not surround, but good enough.
Yes done that, Too lazy to turn the Hifi on most of the time though. But have you seen those Surround sound Amps. Huge they are with millions of phono sockets on the back. Newer ones have HDMI though. -
Collected bass from Ted and am very pleased. No Rush No Hassle, Confident and Courteous. Thanks. Howie (zzaass)

Quality of sound becoming less important?
zzaass replied to paulpirie8's topic in General Discussion
I can play flac files through the line-out on my Rockboxed G5.5 Ipod. Sounds as good as CD and nearly as good as vinyl on my old separates. I spend most of my time next to my desk computer in a different room though, where I listen through my NSI nEar05 powered speakers. I havnt paid a lot for any of my kit, but quality of sound IS important to me. My TV sounds a bit crap though. Never got into surround sound systems and the like. There doesnt seem to be a cheap way of having one system for both movies and music. -
Have you thought about a Sandberg? the California vs is available in natural gloss or matt and the general opinion is that they're incredible basses. http://www.sandberg-...lv-series/calvs matt
I have looked at this. I can't seem to find any information about their necks. The nut width looks a little narrow. Like a jazz ?

PA advice - what should I know before buying a PA?
zzaass replied to magee's topic in Accessories and Misc
Hi, we were in similar situation a year ago and got a Yamaha Stagepass 500 Just for vocals. It's plenty loud enough for loud pubs. I probably wouldnt even have considered it but the singer was recomended it and just got it. It's dead simple to set up, takes no room at all and we can just about manage without foldback. -
If anyone's got any suggestions for good funk/rock bands with great bass parts, I'd love to hear them!
and on a lighter note Jamiroquai
