That’s a fair summary. Had a Burner BSB 5 string (bought & sold here). Great build quality but 16mm spacing I couldn’t handle. Just sold a BT6 (also here). Amazing bass. Incredibly even tone across all notes likes a grand piano. Still have a BT5 (bought here). It’s a keeper. Are the HF basses set with 18mm spacing (same as the BT) or 17.5mm?

Hi, where can we see the Bass Direct Ken Smith video?

I bought a status neck 20 years ago for my SR4 but went back to original neck after a few years as the graphite while amazingly made, sounded a bit clackity. Wanted to love it but unfortunately no luck
-
Ok, let me know when you plan to sell 😁
-
Don’t blame you. Still got a 1995 red SR5 I’ve had for 15 years. Did you buy the purple Lakland that was on sale here bitd?
-
Very nice. How many SR5s do you have? Notice any difference?

once you've played a 5 string what's the point of 4?

Switched to 5 after 20 years on 4s. Would never go back. The range, low notes and ease of changing key is a no-brainer. Have one 4 string left, a late 80s stingray where sadly the controls have become stiff through non-use. -

Hi, Ken Smith BT6 from 1991 for sale. Collection only from London. No trades. Sold with Ken Smith strap, Ken's secret sauce and Rockbass gigbag. I am the second owner. Had it for around 10 years. Ebony fingerboard. Macasser Ebony top, Walnut back and core. Bought and sold here several times. Feedback in usual place The Good Bass plays brillantly. Very low action. Amazing even defined tone across all notes, like a grand piano. Great B string. 2 band circuit was replaced, was a Warwick one when I got it, with a new Ken Smith circuit & knobs about 2 years ago, direct from Ken himself. Sounds great and very quiet. Truss rod also replaced at the Bass Gallery. Was broken when I got it. Neck is very stable. Trussrod only been tweaked half a dozen times over 10 years. The Bad Heavy. 5.2kg - see photo Has some wear, notably on back of neck. See photos. Has hairline crack next to B tuner. Not structural. Will be sad to see it go but I rarely use the C string. More photos on request.

Got into them around freakee stylee. Love uplift album. Saw them in Glasgow on mother’s milk tour. Great gig. Got BSSM but nothing since as, forgive me, there is less energy & excitement in their music, imo
