  6. If you wanted Jim to make a 'Basic' version of my 9 (2 octave Ebony Fretboard, non Rare woods i.e Walnut, and a 2 bnd eq,and no Hipshot) its around 2.75k If you wanted him to make MY 9,as a straight copy (3 octaves of Purpleheart,Tulipwood etc etc)......You would die, suddenly, quietly, and never be found.
  7. SOrry,But I have to be harsh as f*** here and say it straight.... IF HE IS sh*t,HE IS sh*t.... If hes crap and wont admit it,then what chance do you have to 'talk him round'.

  11. pfft...Man tuning to 5ths isnt new... But seriously,Manring ran a BIG long column on CGDA in Bassplayer about 15 years ago,all the harmonics etc. I tried it on fretless, and stopped as it was confusing to other people onstage, and for myself.
  12. Wood choice wont really effect tone..scale will though..Just get a nice top and summat stable behind it,like Mahogany,Tulipwood,or a Maple of sorts
  13. I stopped dreaming,But I do dream of wood combinations,if only for looks.

  17. Yep..I would have... Was a little shocked that 'Name' bands play gigs in such a small part of the world (Funeral for a friend and 4ft fingers flyers I saw on a wallside or two)...But given the sheer amount of creativity in the area from Pottery shops,Art Galleries, even the music that is being created there (Folk esp) I could live there fella...But could I be happy..satisfied?
