Matching ramp on my old Dingwall. My new one has an acrylic ramp.

One of those with six strings, fanned frets and 16.5mm spacing please!!

I like the feel of a ramp. I wouldn't have one (certainly not a full-height one) between neck pickup and heel because I like having access to pop strings.

Good to see you on here, Tom. I'd say go straight for Godin. They're so well made and designed, and my two (guitars) have superb neck stability too... must be a Canadian thing!

I recently sold a Modern Player Jazz fiver that was excellent for the price. Stuck a pre in and it was fantastic.

What are you playing at the moment?

As the others said, Ibanez Soundgears. I'm not a huge fan of the sound myself these days, but it's a cheap way to get that electronics setup and the Soundgears are comfortable basses if you like slim necks and string spacings.

I would probably be just as mad as you, but I have a better drummer story... during a rehearsal, a drummer decided it would be really funny to crash his cymbal as loud as possible by my ear while I was setting up my pedalboard, triggering tinnitus that hasn't stopped in the ten years since and will probably bug me for the rest of my life even if I sell all my basses.
