1. I've tried numerous times, but my smaller hands just aren't comfortable with 35" scale... I also don't like the feel of a 35" G.
2.
I don't have any precisions. But, one fretted and one fretless as mentioned. Then there's the five string. Then there's a backup or more than a backup. Then, as mentioned, one with flats. Then there's the six-string: After that, it's an obsession.
Schwing. What is THAT?!
3. The thought had occurred to me, in fact I looked into getting a narrow-spacing Jazz 6 built...
4. Just seen that there's actually a reliced Sandberg in the sale section... shame it's 35" scale!
5.
I replaced the strings for Daddario flats, Wow! ...thinking to keep her... So for now, stays with me! Cheers to all!
Phew, I'm safe! Was thinking about this bass most of the day...
6. This bass has now been sold. I've been overwhelmed with interest on it, so apologies to everyone I've had to disappoint. I have a few more pieces going up shortly. Still lots of guitar stuff available here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/276805-lots-of-interesting-guitars/page__pid__2954160#entry2954160
7. I know this will seem like a mad idea given that five string Fenders weren't around in the 60s/70s, but personally I'd love a lightly worn vintage-looking Jazz or Precision. Who makes them? I've seen Sandbergs, but the massive polepieces etc don't appeal to me. I suppose I could get a Fender 5 and get it refinished in thin-skin nitro, but am wondering if anyone already does these.
8. If you mark the subject as SOLD, the mods will close the thread for you (:
9. Jay is a gentleman to deal with and his basses are immaculately kept, someone's going to get a bargain here.
10. Wait, hold on... you're selling the Alpher too?!
11. Cheers - I completely agree. It's not immaculate and as I mentioned the EQ isn't wired in, but it's gorgeous, very lightweight and I really wish basses of this quality had been around for 100 quid when I started playing!
12. This bass has now been sold and has left for its new home. Thank you to everyone for their interest. I still have a bunch of guitar stuff available here if it tickles anyone's fancy: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/276805-lots-of-interesting-guitars/page__pid__2952614#entry2952614
13.
Sorry, didn't quite come across as meant :PThese are very good as stock, Mods make this one exceptional
Oh don't worry, I didn't take it that way! (: I didn't realise the Roscoe Beck pickups replace them, would probably have tried that.
14. PM replied. As stated above, it is Chinese made but they've done a great job. As a seller I would obviously be biased in saying that the quality compares to MIM or MIJ instruments... I can't speak for them all, but I will say that I was pretty shocked when I first picked it up, it's a very good bass and certainly holds its own amongst more expensive company.
15. I would rather do a local sale, but if a buyer is willing to arrange and pay for courier pickup and take the risk then I am not hard-set against the idea. I would pack well in a hard case.
