1.
Hi all, Selling my EBS Rig which comprises the following: 6U Rack containing EBS TD 650 head Aphex Aural Exciter with Big Bottom! Korg DTR 2000 Rack Tuner EBS Proline 410 Cab (4 x 10) EBS Proline 15F Cab (1 x 15) Both cabs come with bespoke foam lined professional flight cases with large rubber-wheeled castors All items in immaculate condition (Flight cases have a couple of scuffs, but that's what they're for!) All leads/spare power leads/spare speakon leads included All above included in price of £2000 This is a serious rig, loads of power, can cope with large arenas, down to small pubs/clubs. Obviously collection preferred, but will deliver if not too far from Lincolnshire, or prepared to meet halfway. I would welcome anyone to come along & try your own bass through this rig. PM via Basschat or email geeceeATntlworld.com Cheers R.
Wow, this is a serious rig. Good deal too for what's included!
 2.
condition for both is exceptionally good. the EBS cab has lost the plastic cap for its horn attentuator, but there is no damage to the pot shaft and I find I can twist it easily enough without it. I'm pretty sure you could get a replacement for next to nothing.
You have more PM.
 3. What's your location and what are you looking for for it?
 4. Again, thanks for all your input. I'll definitely not get these cabs! Sure, the low cost appeals to me, but I'm also attracted by their compact size and light weight. What about something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AudioPro-Proel-500-w...oQQcmdZViewItem Or should I generally avoid bass bins in favour of bass cabs?
 5. Ok, I'll repeat... Is the poor sensitivity a question of a bad speaker driver, or poor cabinet design? If it's mostly a bad speaker, I certainly wouldn't mind swapping out the speaker... I was more wondering about the general idea of the thing. Some of the bass bins come with mid-range Eminence drivers which are probably better? I know they have bad frequency response, but that's mainly because of the low-pass filter. I'm mainly wondering what they are like as cabs. For 50 quid a cab, I don't mind paying to put new speakers in.

 7.
Did you try out any other EUB's before buying this one? How does the sound compare to an NS? As an electric bassist and fretless player I am looking to get an EUB but don't really know where to start. I would welcome anyone else's comments also.
NS Design makes some nice instruments, to my ear they sound closer to a big fretless bass guitar than the Bassix instruments... this is not to say that they don't sound good, just different. The necks are different too, I think one of the NS Design ranges has a thinner neck with a concave back surface while this EUB has a thick, chunky neck closer to that of a real URB. The other thing I like about this one is that it has a spike and a curvy frame which feels more natural to sway along to, as opposed to the NS Design basses which are mounted on a cymbal stand. Again, not better or worse, just different.
 8. Was wondering whether anyone's tried using speakers like these in their bass rig: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PAIR-New-300-Watt-15...1QQcmdZViewItem They're inexpensive, compact and pretty lightweight... I know I'd have to remove the passive low-pass-filter, but otherwise, is there anything to stop me getting a pair of 15" bass bins to use as bass speakers for pub gigs where I don't want to worry too much about beer being spilt over my equipment?
 9. Wow, really nice site. I'm looking purely for a black plastic dot though, and they only have fancy things. Maybe a single different dot could be cool though... Does anyone know the exact dot size for these basses? I don't have a ruler accurate enough.
 10.
i know, but you know how it is im sure! Anyway, you could probably have a road trip to blackpool, get the amp, go on a bender, and STILL have it as a steal!
Well to be fair, if you were in London you definitely wouldn't be having this much trouble selling it. Blackpool's just too far for me to drive to at the moment, I won't have a day off for a couple weeks at least, and it will be gone by then!
 11. 250 quid!! That is a serious bargain... that's about what just the cab goes for new. If you were in London, I'd be around your house now picking it up.

 13.
im curious why do ebs cabs cost so so much more than normal cabs?
Because they're bloody amazing, that's why! This cab, for example, has Neo drivers which make it much lighter than most 2x10s, and it also has an outstanding sensitivity rating, meaning that for a give amp, it will produce more volume than most other cabs. The design of the cab itself also plays a part.
 14.
Just changed amp so am selling my HA3500 350W head. Pre-amp has both transistor and Valve sections that can be blended, a really good compressor and graphic that lights up with little red LED's. There is a bit of damage (see pics), the 30Hz slider still works but the grey plastic bit, including the aforementioned LED, has got lost along the way This was before I put it in the flight case, which is a polycarbonate 19" case. Looking in soundcontrol today it is essentially a Gator case, in fact exactly the same just no logo, they are about £60 new. If you don't want the flight case case, I do still have the original box. So Amp in case £230. I am open to reasonable offers If it needs to be posted, it weighs 15Kg and that would be extra. I am very happy to 'meet half way'. I live in Milton Keynes.
Aargh, where were you two weeks ago when I was looking for one of these exactly... Good price people, jump on this!
 15. One of the fingerboard markers on my OLP MM3 has fallen out, leaving a hole where it used to be! Does anyone know where I can get another? Or any other suggestions, such as filling it with clay, or acrylic, or minced beef?
 16.
bump
Was very tempted at 400 quid... 600 quid is still a good deal for such a high quality amp. Out of my price range unfortunately, and I've just bought a poweramp setup. A friendly bump for an awesome amp.
 17.
you're welcome - a happy ending is what counts
For the curious - the F9 is a tritone substitution for a B dominant (which is a nice dominant to use when going to the next chord, which is an E major 7 type chord).
 18.
You have PM.
PM replied. Can anyone recommend a website to send MP3 files?
 19. I have a beautiful Bassix electric upright bass, custom made for me by Alan Hatswell in Kent. It is made of composite materials, is lightweight and impervious to changes in temperature and humidity, etc. Set up with a fairly low action for easy playing. Active electronics with 2-band EQ. Removable abalone side dots. In my opinion, this is one of the best-looking electric uprights around... it ALWAYS gets a great response and I have gotten quite a few gigs purely because someone saw me playing it. It also sounds great, as good as or better than pretty much any amplified upright I have tried. I can email an MP3 of a recording I did with it a couple years ago. For more information, have a look at this page. Mine looks similar to that pictured, except with a "natural" faux finish. http://www.bassix.net/history_3.php The black sloping shoulder is removable and can be reattached sideways-on giving a very compact portable form factor. Comes with a gig-bag, and in its collapsed form fits easily into almost any car. In smaller cars you may have to have the neck between the front seats, but it's still a LOT more portable than an acoustic upright. Looking for £800 or trades / part ex for a lightweight electric bass rig or similar. Photos to follow.
