I have one of these in black. They are TERRIFIC basses. No less a heavyweight than first call session legend Nathan East is known to use one frequently in the studio.
I got sent one of these (acoustic guitar version) by Slick Bags after a recommendation by @Steve Lawson who I believe endorses them, and they are really nice bags. If this doesn’t sell before I get paid next, I might have to think about it...
More than fair - the main reason this one doesn’t get picked is because when I need a fiver I usually reach for my 3.8kg Sadowsky NYC... but then that’s a good 5-6 times the cost! And my Dingwall Super P5 is surprisingly actually a similar weight to this one.
Ironically I’m tempted by the slightly heavier Yamaha that @woolf is selling...
Yes, just weighed it for someone who’s interested: 9.36lb or 4.25kg on my luggage scales, so mid-weight for a fiver I’d say. Well-balanced though, which really helps.
Agree, look like Sadowsky knobs. The Sadowsky pre is boost only for the bass and treble, so with them all the way down, it should sound very similar passive and active.
Jay Nelson (Fender’s Custom Shop painter) posted this cool vid of him doing this finish on a scrap body. Really enjoy watching Jay paint, he’s obviously very good and is very happy giving all his secrets away.
