  1. If you’ve not owned a fiver before, I’d suggest that aiming to make this your one and only fiver purchase might be a tad unrealistic - most of us go through a few before we work out what we really like in a five string, they’re not really the same as four strings. It’s a bit like asking what girl you should marry, and that you’re willing to date one and only one 😂
  2. I’d definitely be game for a 30-33” six string!

  5. I’m trying to get more bass uptake both at the school where I teach and the church where I worship. One obvious initial obstacle is getting a little setup which bass beginners / guitar-playing dabblers can afford while they figure out if they want to get serious. So recommend me a little setup! I think we’ll need a bass, a small amp, and a cable. If they can be ordered in one go from a retailer (or purchased locally) then all the better. Links and prices appreciated!
  6. Yeah, probably going to be all sorts of proportion issues too.
  7. It didn’t come with one, but I have a few options in the house and am happy to negotiate something suitable with a prospective buyer.
  8. It is actually similar to the Dingwall Super scale (35-32” for the five string version). Intriguing instrument!
  9. Ah, completely the wrong place as I’m in the South East 😂 Cheers for the reply!
  10. Curious where you are in case pickup is an option? Asking mainly since £20 is a fair proportion of a bass that’s £105 shipped new, and I may be close by!
  11. The issue here is that Eurosender are recommended as a sort of partner by this site, so it doesn’t inspire confidence if they are reliably unreliable. FWIW, I have used them once to send a Sadowsky to the Netherlands for a trade, and it was a successful delivery.
  12. If you aren’t fussy about it being Fender style then I have a 2+2 medium scale neck I’m think of offloading. If you are, I have a Gypsy Rose 32” P/J project that I’m also thinking of offloading.
  13. Not yet - I’ve taken it out once for church, and found that: 1. I’d forgotten to intonate it. D’oh! 2. There was a grounding hum only resolvable by touching one of the knobs. The first was easy to fix, the second I think requires me to sand part of the finish off the bridge so it can contact properly with the grounding wire. Haven’t gotten around to that yet. I reckon I will be upgrading one or both pickups and also the preamp. Will probably put in the Glockenklang that came with my Sadowsky NYC, and as for the pickups I’ll wait for something suitable to come along secondhand.
  14. Photo? Active or passive? How many controls, and are any stacked?
