  1. Agreed, and thanks! Correct, and really that’s the main reason I’m selling it as I have shorter fingers, and in recent times have moved towards medium scale (I have a 33” Shuker for my 6 needs, and my 32” Ibanez Mezzo fiver is getting lots of play time at the minute). It does give the low B tightness, but at my age I have to take care of my hands!
  2. I’ve started locating gold hardware to do mine up...
  3. It’s 5.5kg so definitely no featherweight, but not ridiculous for a six string version of a Jazz - those heavier ash bodies are a part of what makes that 70s Jazz sound (many of the original late 70s Jazzes around around 5kg for a four string).
  4. I started out on a six string, my monster Yamaha TRB6. I loved the range, being able to go down to a low B, being able to play chords and high fills, and also how much easier it makes sight reading (minimal shifts). I currently still have a bunch of six string basses: the TRB, my Ken Smith Design six string Jazz (currently on the classifieds), my 33” scale Shuker Singlecut, my Warwick Alien and my fanned fret RedSub Coliseum. I’ve also owned a fanned fret Ibanez Soundgear, a Tune, and probably a couple others I’ve forgotten. Really like having them.
  5. Any P config. There are a bunch of other factors though, the kind of bridge you have, whether you have a preamp or run passive, the kind of strings et cetera
  6. I never got the Precision thing when I was younger until I joined this forum. Decided one day to take a shot on a lovely MIJ Fender FSR Classic 60s Lacquer Precision, and couple years later it was long gone. ... and I owned two pre-CBS Fender Ps. So be careful, it’s a dangerous game...
  7. @amadeusex I’m curious too. The first one was a six string, designed to be able to match synth bass range, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Terrific Range Bass or something.
  8. I have several fanned fret instruments - I’ve had three Dingwalls (still have a Super P), have a RedSub fanned six string bass, and also have several fanned fret guitars (an Avian acoustic, two Ibanez acoustics and an Ormsby electric 7 string). I don’t find I have any issues switching between them, but some things are easier on fanned and some things easier on parallel. I find it easier than going from lo to short scale to be honest.
  9. Yup, I’d actually be in favour of a rule that ads need to be left up for informational purposes.
  10. So cruel to take the bass porn away from us 😭
  11. What was this? Hate it when all the information gets removed from ads.
  12. Spacings might be useful! Also, five bridges pictured, but only three priced.
  13. Nice work with the pickguard! I am toying with getting a sheet metal nibbler to do my own pickguards.
  14. I’m sure! I’ve just not yet found a 1980 bass worth having!
  15. Looks like they’ve been removed from sale
  16. ALMOST a YOB bass... damn. Would have been one worth having!
