  1. I’ve owned more than half a dozen fanned fret basses and guitars... and that is next level bonkers.
  2. Pretty close to being my dream bass. Wish the timing was better!
  3. I’m reviving this thread as I’ve been watching too many Lee Sklar videos on YouTube, and now I want a double P setup in my collection. What current double P options are out there, or am I better off getting a P and routing for an additional pickup?
  4. Just so save people the hassle as the photos are a faff to download and view - the first one is the headstock, the third shows the actual body which is black in colour.
  5. Measure it up and see if it’s similar to any of the other ones, and decide if you’re willing to deal with extra screw holes.
  6. The discontinued GB5 looks the closest, but it has been discontinued. The complete list is here: https://hipshotproducts.com/collections/bass-xtenders
  7. It depends what tuners it has. A photo of the back of the headstock will help.
  8. Roger has said that due to Covid we’re not expecting these to ship for a while.
  9. Sadowskys are phenomenal - I have two NYCs, but you won’t get one for USD1k until the new Metro Expresses come our. Did you mean £1k? The pound isn’t what it used to be. I’m a guitarist first, and came to bass later. My first bass was a Yamaha TRB6 😂 Unconventional, but a great bass and I still own it. In your position, I’d get a secondhand Fender Jazz and a secondhand Fender Precision, and see how you like them, then sell them on and get a nicer version of the one you want.
  10. That looks fantastic. And you say 3.5kg?! Do you have a link?
  11. It’s basically a used bass, IMO, and I’d expect it to be priced accordingly.
  12. Perhaps mark the thread title with SOLD, then the mods will close it
  13. Not on purpose, but it’s tough when it takes up as much space as it does
  14. I’d get a premium aftermarket neck myself. Roasted maybe.
  15. You could build a pretty nice bitsa with secondhand parts for that money.
  16. Then again, I know with roasted maple they warn you to carefully pre-drill everything slightly less snug than you would with other woods as it is more prone to chipping and splitting.
  17. Unless they weren’t pre-drilled properly. If it is seasoning, I wonder if this might be less of an issue on the roasted maple version.
  18. I really like the Sadowsky slimmed-down J shape. It looks much sleeker than my than the standard J.
