    Anyone here have any expertise in Dremels and rotary tools? Is it worth paying for the brand? Corded vs cordless etc? Would be cool to be able to do simple routing with it, for pickups etc. I know Dremel sells a router attachment as well as a drill press attachment etc. (I already have a Bosch cordless drill but I know they’re a bit different)

    I also replaced the horrible phosphor bronze strings on my Warwick Alien with La Bella tapewounds - I went for white nylon golds.

    I’m reviving this thread as I’ve been watching too many Lee Sklar videos on YouTube, and now I want a double P setup in my collection. What current double P options are out there, or am I better off getting a P and routing for an additional pickup?

    Just so save people the hassle as the photos are a faff to download and view - the first one is the headstock, the third shows the actual body which is black in colour.

    Are they all the type with a grub screw?

    Measure it up and see if it’s similar to any of the other ones, and decide if you’re willing to deal with extra screw holes.

    It depends what tuners it has. A photo of the back of the headstock will help.

    Sadowskys are phenomenal - I have two NYCs, but you won’t get one for USD1k until the new Metro Expresses come our. Did you mean £1k? The pound isn’t what it used to be. I’m a guitarist first, and came to bass later. My first bass was a Yamaha TRB6 😂 Unconventional, but a great bass and I still own it. In your position, I’d get a secondhand Fender Jazz and a secondhand Fender Precision, and see how you like them, then sell them on and get a nicer version of the one you want.

    It’s basically a used bass, IMO, and I’d expect it to be priced accordingly.
