Just purchased some nice cables from @AJ567 - thoroughly nice bloke and easy transaction!
-
Yet another easy transaction with @Rumple, I will eventually own all your basses! 😂

That logo is a tad Peavey, no?

The Mustangs are great, I like mine a lot. Ultimately I think I’m a medium scale guy, but I think it’s hard to go wrong with them. Mine is the MIJ verno with the split pickup. Also consider the Hofner Violin which is the same scale.

Here’s Fender’s own information on the MIJ / CIJ transition. https://support.fender.com/hc/en-us/articles/214343783-How-can-I-find-out-when-my-Japanese-made-instrument-was-manufactured- It’s possible the body and neck may not originally have been together.

If you’ve found a bass that looks and feels perfect, but doesn’t quite sound right, why not change the electronics to make the complete package?
-
The earlier ones are Made in Japan, the later ones Crafted in Japan. It would seem this is 25 years old.
-
If you really want to be able to see them in the dark, Luminlay do some!
-
You could get some Sadowsky knobs, I have them on three of my basses with Sadowsky pres in them. Nice and easy to see in the dark, and superb quality.
-
Quite fancy trying their fanned feet singlecut...

I bought a new bass for £3,000 but got it wrong...

I miss my Bravewood 56. Lost all hope of the thieving bastards getting caught now 😔 -
I have for sale this fantastic sounding Aguilar DB112 which I received in a trade. Silver grille, black tolex. It has been gigged and so has a few nicks and scuffs to the tolex. This is the more desirable one with the adjustable tweeter, and everything you’ve heard about its punchy tone is true. I’m after just £325 for this collected from SE London... BUT I also have a second one in excellent condition with a cover that I could be persuaded to part with as a pair in trade for: - a pair of SL112s (for my pair of DB112s with cash your way) - one SL112 (for my pair of DB112s with cash my way) - one SL112 (for the DB112 pictured with cash your way) - a medium scale Precision / ultra lightweight Precision I will not part with the DB112 in better nick on its own unless it’s a really good trade offer.

Would be boring if we all liked things exactly the same... I’m grateful for the diversity of tastes, as somehow the women I’ve dated have wanted to date me!

That’s fair. At least now we have options.

My solution is to wait until a secondhand high end bass comes along that is close to what I want, then subtly modify or finesse it until it’s exactly what I want. Ends up being a hell of a lot cheaper than a brand new custom, and I lose very little in resale if I ever change my tastes. -
Whereas personally I hated those surrounds and was glad when the new series didn’t have them as it meant I could now get one 😂

@ead Aha a stealth P! Lovely. How do people find the D tuner works on medium scale?
-
What did you get?! I really want a 32” P.
-
Huzzah! Recently bought this lovely 33” six string Shuker from @JMT3781. Still getting used to the flattish fingerboard, but I really like the narrow spacing, medium scale, and it looks lovely... if a little on the heavier side than I’m used to. If I keep it I may end up swapping the EMG system out for some Nordstrands.
