  1. That’s fair. At least now we have options.
  2. My solution is to wait until a secondhand high end bass comes along that is close to what I want, then subtly modify or finesse it until it’s exactly what I want. Ends up being a hell of a lot cheaper than a brand new custom, and I lose very little in resale if I ever change my tastes.
  3. Whereas personally I hated those surrounds and was glad when the new series didn’t have them as it meant I could now get one 😂
  4. @ead Aha a stealth P! Lovely. How do people find the D tuner works on medium scale?
  5. What did you get?! I really want a 32” P.
  6. I think the necks are very different. I love the look of the Soundgears, but the thin necks give me hand cramps.
  7. Do you reckon my QSC TouchMix 16 digital mixer would fit? Dimensions (HxWxD) 3.5 x 14.2 x 11.7" (89 x 360 x 297 mm)
  8. Huzzah! Recently bought this lovely 33” six string Shuker from @JMT3781. Still getting used to the flattish fingerboard, but I really like the narrow spacing, medium scale, and it looks lovely... if a little on the heavier side than I’m used to. If I keep it I may end up swapping the EMG system out for some Nordstrands.
  9. Am I allowed to share a recent 33” scale acquisition? @Rumple?
  10. Just change the topic subject.
  11. That’s a killer deal for a Bee! Trying to decide if I can deal with that short a scale. You put 25.5 and 23.5, which one is it?
  12. These are remarkable! 😮
  13. @epoxyjazzbass My luthier had it for a week, flattened the bottom of the saddle, flattened the bottom of the saddle slot, moved the copper piece around. Is yours shimmed? Not sure how to start with shimming.
  14. So I recently purchased a Warwick Alien 6 string acoustic bass, and there is a terrible string imbalance between the highest 2 strings and the lowest 4... so much so as to make it virtually unplayable plugged in. Took the saddle out and it turns out there are TWO separate piezo elements connected from either end of the saddle slot, joined in the middle with a little piece of copper (for earthing reasons, presumably). I’m think it may be best to replace the entire piezo transducer with a single longer one. What are my options for longer USTs? The active sensing area would need to be around 10cm really. I was wondering whether a Headway or Highlander type would be my best bet. Suggestions welcome!
  15. That document looks so suspicious...
  16. You can pretty much get two secondhand Super Ps / Super Js for £3k.
  17. The medium scales Jazzes come up reasonably often, I got mine off here. The Precisions are harder to come by, am still looking for one.
  18. Both just outside the warranty period I believe.
  19. A friend of mine has had two Xvives die on him.
  20. @bassbloke Ramp is actually currently off the bass. Has not affected the bass at all.
  21. Do you have a photo of the whole bass? I know the other thread has one, but it’s in its case so some the foam is hanging over the edge concealing its shape.
  22. How do you find the white nylons compared to phosphor bronzes?
  23. Jo is such a killer player, you guys have no idea! Any bass he’s been playing is going to be quality, and well taken-care-of!
  24. I don’t mind if it’s being supplied, but I’d never get it into my coupe!
  25. At first I was thinking “Why would anyone split that?” Then I saw it and “Oh.”
