  1. So last night I went to see the unbelievable Jacob Collier. He was playing what appeared to be a BB2005 and his bassist Robin Mullarkey was playing an older BB (I don’t know which one).
  2. Gorgeous! I’ve had three Dingwalls, including two Canadians, and I still love my Super P!
  3. Still here. Possible trades: Nordstrand 6-string pickups in EMG45 size Medium scale Precision Have had several requests to ship this - I am happy to pack it, but any buyer will have to arrange collection. It is heavy and big, and I’d really rather not have to deal with courier insurance. If you’re nearby, maybe we can talk about delivery.
  4. @AndyTravis I just tagged you in this on Facebook. The legendary Steve Pearce is selling his 1978 BB1200 for just £500.
  5. If you mean the production market, then possibly. I think Bravewood relicing is more realistic, but they are handmade master built instruments rather than production. I do like that they do relic five strings - those are rare!
  6. You’re always going to be able to see them. If you want unlined, you’ll need to start with an unlined fretboard.
  7. Are you stuck on it being a Fender? I have two great unlined fretlesses up for sale in the Classifieds. The Revelation is in the Fender vein and really very good
  8. @Geek99 Forgive the cat getting in the way of my playing and a few wrong notes, just quickly did this on my little THR10 amp to a random backing track. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ltydovf5t0wb4qi/Ibanez AMV-10A.mov?dl=0
  9. Things I’m most interested in: - old Fenders - Sadowskys - Dingwalls - medium scale stuff, particularly a P bass - a really good practice amp, ideally one that can do both guitar and bass - a big iPad Pro, or a good MacBook Pro ... but try me!
  10. @itu It’s been a long time so I can’t remember the exact figure, but @binky_bass is probably not far off. Took a while and customs got me on both the bass and parts imports.
  11. @binky_bass I guess it is somewhat niche! A killer touch-style or chordal instrument for the right player though. Someone out there needs this and just doesn’t know it yet.
  12. For sale: my gorgeous Yamaha RBX6JM in very good condition. The narrow string spacing makes this neck really comfy for non-six-string players. This particular one has had the lacklustre stock Yamaha preamp upgraded to a much better Schack 3-band pre that makes it a surprisingly versatile instrument - have just been transcribing some Abraham Laboriel fingerstyle gospel lines with it today and wondering if I really should be selling it! Gold hardware (some mild tarnishing as expected), ebony fingerboard with signature “Infinity” symbol inlay, transparent blue finished body with flame maple veneer and matching headstock. £500 collected from London SE3 or Bexley DA6.
  13. For sale: my beautiful 70s-style Ken Smith Design (KSD) 6-string J bass in very good condition. I’d wanted a six-string jazz for a very long time, but they are few and far between! When I first got this the stock pickups had a weird narrow magnetic field which meant the B and C strings weren’t balanced with the rest. I’ve had pricey and highly regarded Basstec pickups (from Schack) put in, as well as a nice ME 2-band boost-only preamp installed (lovely work as usual by Feline Guitars). Little tone monster now, but I have my eye on a medium scale so needs must. Ash body in natural finish, bound maple fingerboard on maple neck, white pearloid pickguard and block markers. Grover tuners, Hipshot bridge, recessed Dunlop strap locks. I’ve ultrasonically cleaned the strings (but as they’re well-played in I’d expect any buyer to want to replace them, especially if you like zing). Now just £599 collected in SE London (Greenwich, Bromley, Croydon).
  14. Great speakers, I have two and they punch well above their weight.
