  1. I’m not a Rick guy, but that is really nice.
  2. Like the pickguard experimentation. Not a huge fan of the pickguard shape on my 435 if I’m completely honest - would want to play around a little with a custom replacement.
  3. That’s very generous. I’ll send you a message.
  4. What’s the reason for swapping the bodies, @AndyTravis? (apologies if it was mentioned 15 pages back!)
  5. Over Christmas I helped rescue (and do a basic setup on) my girlfriend’s bass from her parents’ garage. She’s asked for recommendations for YouTube lessons as we are both under the weather and probably spending the weekend apart as a result. Before I trawl through the hundreds of YouTube lessons, does anyone have recommendations for beginners? Scott’s Bass Lessons etc seem aimed more at intermediate players.
  6. Sorry I wasn’t clear - I have a normal endpin and was wondering whether the Glasser is a worthwhile replacement for reasons stated above.
  7. Worthwhile endpin replacement? Mine has a split in the ebony part that fits into the bass itself, as well as the rubber tip.
  8. The TRB1004 is 35”. https://www.dv247.com/en_GB/GBP/Yamaha-TRB-1004-J-Black-/art-BAS0005365-000 I too would suggest a fiver, but some people are afraid of change 😊
  9. Most decent four strings will handle BEAD fine with appropriate gauge strings and a good setup. The most critical thing is to have the nut re-cut correctly.
  10. I now own a second medium scale bass to go with the MIJ Jazz I bought from @Rumple, this funky little Yamaha MB-III. Fits in a guitar case thanks to the tiny headstock! Still looking out for a medium scale P. Might have to search for a Gypsy Rose, @Rumple!
  11. I’ve joined the club courtesy of @FDC484950, and I am very impressed. The BB435 will certainly hold me over until I eventually get my stolen Dingwall Super J5 back.
  12. The Zoom B3 is very capable for the money - I have one lying around somewhere and still use the G3 as my acoustic board.
  13. If you get an outboard preamp you like, then you can use it with all your basses.
  14. These are great for the money, I gigged the five string version for a while!
  15. As someone who really likes medium scale basses, I’m hoping the necks for these aren’t impossibly slim like the other Soundgears. Something about it reminds me of Fodera and Warwick. Quite like the pickguard shape. Hope they also make a fiver.
  16. I’d argue that if you like it and there are no issues, any bass has got to be worth £80.
  17. Lovely. Had my 64 out gigging over Christmas - these basses need to be played. Are those Thomastik Jazz Flats you’ve got on?
  18. As a little perspective - my three other Precisions are a Dingwall Super P5 and two 60s pre-CBS Fenders. I paid £230 for the BB435.
  19. Consider also the BB435 - just picked one up and it holds its own amongst my much more expensive basses.
  20. Am hoping they come up with a six-string version. This is similar to Dingwall Super scale which is my preference.
  21. I picked up a BB435 two days ago. I own a couple pre-CBS Precisions and a Dingwall Super P... and let me say the Yamaha is RIDICULOUSLY good for the price.
  22. Hello mate - Basschat’s mobile version doesn’t say where you are from?
  23. In case you need ideas on what to do with one... or four. Plus bridge ones.
