  1. Looks like an active layout to me.
  2. I was going to say it looks more like a BB than an RBX.
  3. My MV4 is 3.9kg (8.6lb), so hardly heavy. Changing the pickups out for NJ4SEs brought the thing to life. I’ve tried a bunch of NYCs and other than the weight of the super light ones, this Metro is every bit as good.
  4. Levy’s straps - £70 for all 3, or £70 each?
  5. I had an otherwise lovely six-string Soundgear that I had to sell because I found the neck made my hand cramp. I find the Myung allows me to play for much longer. Everyone’s different of course.
  6. I have one and find the neck much more comfortable than the Soundgears as it’s not as skinny.
  7. Side dots in the binding, I’m guessing.
  8. By lightweight, I assume you mean 7lb rather than 7kg! 😂
  9. Ah Combustions - the gateway Dingwall! Careful, I started with one and now have two Canadian ones (Super J and Super P).
  10. Available again due to unfortunate circumstances on the prospective buyer’s end.
  11. Because Basschat owners are like Angelica Scuyler in Hamilton - they’ll never be satisfied. On a serious note, it means bargains can be had. I could never have afforded my Sadowsky or my two Dingwalls brand new, but benefitted from the fickleness of others on here.
  12. I have three six strings, a Ken Smith Design 6-string Jazz, a Yamaha TRB6 Mk I (upgraded with a Glockenklang pre) and a Yamaha RBX6JM (upgraded with a Schack pre). The Yamahas are fantastic instruments especially for the money. The first model TRB6 in particular is as good as pretty much anything out there in the same price bracket, but they are both great albeit very different beasts. The TRB6 has wide string spacing and shorter scale length (33 7/8”) and the RBX has narrow string spacing and longer scale length (I have it capoed at the first fret).
  13. Hipshot D-tuners are designed to be direct swap with no permanent alterations to the instrument.
  14. I tend to favour the no-blocks look in general, so these sound appealing. Do they have a PJ version.
  15. What are the major differences?
  16. That’s at least 3 too many
  17. I would get a secondhand one. They come up regularly on the classifieds here and you will be able to sell it on for the same amount if you ever decide to.
  18. I like the fan of my Dingwall Super J5 and Super P5. I liked the fan of the Ibanez six string when I had mine (although the neck was too thin). I’m very interested in trying the Strandberg bass when it appears.
