  1. The price that Fenders are these days, you’re probably better off speccing a Limelight or Warmoth or something. More options, similar or less money, probably better built.
  2. I have to say my Fender Rumble 500 V3 Combo has blown me away, especially for the money.
  3. Yes, but there’s a Rumble 500 Head for sale there for £300, which I would certainly get over the 350.
  4. I’m sure the head could be couriered quite easily, it’s quite compact.
  5. Is 1A definitely enough for the pedals you are using, and is it definitely a 1A supply? It does sound like a power draw issue.
  6. Whats the horn placement like? Shifting the nut towards your body can have a huge impact on playability. Some Dingwalls have a rear strap button installed to accomplish this - can also improve balance.
  7. I don’t think you’ll regret this, especially if you pick up a good secondhand one as they are great value and have excellent resale. My Metro J and my NYC S-type are exceptional instruments.
  8. Why not just get the Rumble 500 V3? There’s one in the Marketplace here for £300.
  9. What scale length and spacing?
  10. Oh yes, the Anacondas are fantastic!
  11. Bought one at the bass show as a backup. Used it for my stage monitoring at the Royal Festival Hall through my EA Wizzy 10. Sounded great! Unfortunately I’ve gone to the Fender Rumble 500 combo, so I can’t actually use it as a backup any more 😕
  12. I looked at Shukers etc around the time when I bought my Sadowsky. In the end, the right Sadowsky came up secondhand at a price that meant I would at least break even if I ever decided to move it on. I also found that replacing the pickups with Nordstrands brought the thing to life.
  13. If I were you, I’d get big Luminlay dots inlaid at the position markers. The ones with the ring around them, they make it so much more readable. You could also have small dots inlaid between the bigger ones.
  14. Picked up Noble preamp in person, had a nice chat. Friendly comms, top bloke, and can’t wait to gig this thing!!
  15. Wasn’t expecting this to turn into a personals section. I have a girl, but my cab is still available. 😉
  16. That colour!! 😍
  17. I’m 5’ 8” and weigh a little more than I should. I can carry it up the stairs with one hand, although it’s slightly awkward as it’s deep due to the side-firing speaker.
  18. Schroeder no longer make the 1212L in this configuration, their newer ones are more conventional. Here is a page showing this model, priced at around €1200 at the time https://instrumentboutique.com/en/shop/3-cabinets/bass-cabinets/schroeder-classic-1212l/
  19. I guess I’m lucky in that I’m well connected here on the pro scene in London, but there are no shortage of decent drummers I can call. What I really struggle with is finding people who are both good singer / frontmen and guitarists - that’s my main bread and butter, and depping out gigs is a real struggle!
  20. I would have preferred the DI to be post EQ but pre-master, so you could adjust stage volume without affecting the FOH mix. Also, I did a gig Saturday with low stage volume, and the FOH mixer struggled to get a good signal. The one time I didn’t bring along my Sadowsky DI...
  21. I love my Eminence RN4! Feels so similar to my acoustic upright, and I can throw it in the car in 1 easy minute instead of 10 sweaty and sweary ones!
  22. ❤️
  23. My Super J5 really is the best Super Jazz I have played. Incredible balance, feel and ergonomics. I have had it fitted with a Sadowsky pre, so it has the best of both worlds. Pre-owned is definitely the way to go if you can be patient for the right one to come along... or just keep trading until you find the one.
