Why not just get the Rumble 500 V3? There’s one in the Marketplace here for £300.

Oh yes, the Anacondas are fantastic!
-
Bought one at the bass show as a backup. Used it for my stage monitoring at the Royal Festival Hall through my EA Wizzy 10. Sounded great! Unfortunately I’ve gone to the Fender Rumble 500 combo, so I can’t actually use it as a backup any more 😕

I looked at Shukers etc around the time when I bought my Sadowsky. In the end, the right Sadowsky came up secondhand at a price that meant I would at least break even if I ever decided to move it on. I also found that replacing the pickups with Nordstrands brought the thing to life.

If I were you, I’d get big Luminlay dots inlaid at the position markers. The ones with the ring around them, they make it so much more readable. You could also have small dots inlaid between the bigger ones.

Picked up Noble preamp in person, had a nice chat. Friendly comms, top bloke, and can’t wait to gig this thing!!

I guess I’m lucky in that I’m well connected here on the pro scene in London, but there are no shortage of decent drummers I can call. What I really struggle with is finding people who are both good singer / frontmen and guitarists - that’s my main bread and butter, and depping out gigs is a real struggle!

I would have preferred the DI to be post EQ but pre-master, so you could adjust stage volume without affecting the FOH mix. Also, I did a gig Saturday with low stage volume, and the FOH mixer struggled to get a good signal. The one time I didn’t bring along my Sadowsky DI...

I love my Eminence RN4! Feels so similar to my acoustic upright, and I can throw it in the car in 1 easy minute instead of 10 sweaty and sweary ones! -
My Super J5 really is the best Super Jazz I have played. Incredible balance, feel and ergonomics. I have had it fitted with a Sadowsky pre, so it has the best of both worlds. Pre-owned is definitely the way to go if you can be patient for the right one to come along... or just keep trading until you find the one.

I have Nordstrands in several basses, including jazz ones in my Sadowsky (NJ4SEs) and my Japanese medium scale (NJ4s), and think you’ll be very happy. They brought both basses to life. You could also have the pickup cavity shielded while you’re at it.

The 15” cab isn’t the same width which really annoys me... why did they do that?!
-
I will add that secondhand Metros hold their value extremely well. You could get one, then sell up to upgrade to an NYC if you decide to. Or keep it as a backup or second option.

So I was looking at getting the 2x10” extension cab for my v3 500 combo, and it appears that the extension cab is heavier than the combo! Might I be better off getting a second one and stacking them than a cab?

The Bad Monkey is an astonishingly good pedal for the money.

I was a Jazz guy for many years until I tried a Precision and it suddenly made sense. I like changing things up once in a while, I definitely play differently with different pickup configs. I’m really lucky to have some incredible Ps and a couple incredible Js. I think a PJ may be in my future...

I have a Metro (an MV4), and the only advantage of an NYC to me is the chambering. Still, mine is 3.9kg so hardly weighty.

Sadowsky for sure. Immaculately made, and the preamp makes them sit SO well in a mix.
