  1. These are super rare - only made 200 IIRC!
  2. That’s lovely. Did you ever sell your Super P?
  3. Is that a piece of paper under the B string at the nut?
  4. I use D’Addario EXPs. Feel and sound good, and last ages.
  5. I have two fantastic unlined fretlesses in the Classifieds at the minute.
  6. Interesting - wonder how it compares with, say, the Noble.
  7. That’s true to some extent perhaps, but you’d be surprised. Most luthiers aren’t exactly wealthy, many are just about making a decent wage, and more than you’d expect are only a few months from going out of business.
  8. Yup. Fodera are on record as saying that they want to make sure that their craftsmen and everyone working for them deserves to be paid a decent living wage for where they’re based, hence their prices.
  9. This is generally why I buy secondhand stuff and keep an eye on those prices to make sure I get a good deal. I end up with something that I couldn’t afford new, and have minimal loss if I decide to sell on.
  10. A Sadowsky is still a Sadowsky whether it’s made in Tokyo or NYC... but guess which one people pay more for?
  11. I opted for a Sadowsky preamp/DI. Definitely makes a huge difference!
  12. I’ve read about that elsewhere. I use a Sadowsky preamp/DI on my board so it doesn’t bother me, but it does seem to be an odd design choice.
  13. I see your conundrum, no shortage of 8-hole SSS guards, or 11-hole HSS ones. Vinyl wrap?
  14. I’m one of those annoying people who generally pick instruments up very quickly. Give me a couple days with almost any instrument and I’ll get a decent tune out of it. Taught myself clarinet in a few hours with the aid of a fingering chart, worked out harp in half an hour, sax, cello, drums etc. I’ve gigged on guitar, bass, drums, keys, percussion, and lead and backing vocals professionally. The embouchure of brass instruments totally doesn’t work for me though.
  15. What colour is the Strat?
  16. Strings play in very quickly, in my experience, unless they’re coated. There is some play in in the first few days of playing as mentioned above. The LL series are excellent - Yamaha gave me an LL26 about 10 years ago which is still one of the finest acoustic guitars I’ve ever played.
  17. My Schroeder 1212L is very pokey, takes up to 800w at 4 ohms and is very compact. I have it in the classifieds if of ibterest.
  18. I had the six-string version of this, was lovely but the neck was way too slim for me and gave my hand cramps! Wanted to like it as it is basically the six-string version of my Dingwalls, but alas no.
  19. Let’s also not forget that Anthony Jackson has had a greater role in making the six-string bass what it is than just about anyone in history. If he wants the jack on top on his bass, you bet your donkey he gets it!
  20. These are really nice! Definitely feels like a played-in instrument, and the compact size is very comfortable to hold compared with a full 335-sized semi-hollowbody. Most features are fairly obvious, but of note are the Grover tuners, block inlays and the grippy knobs (matron) which are quite sought after on other models. Currently strung with semi-roundwound strings which are particularly great for jazz or dirty blues styles. Surprisingly versatile and attractive instruments! Collection preferred from London SE3. I have some other stuff for sale here, would certainly be tempted by upward trades for more than one item.
  21. Live out your dream of being in The Eagles or Led Zep! This AcePro double-neck Strat features 6- and 12-string maple necks, black body and white pickguard, plus cream pickup covers and knobs. I originally got this years ago with the intention of upgrading all the pickups and electronics, applying new decals and finish to the necks etc... but I never got around to it and realistically never will. My loss is your gain! Collection preferred from London SE3. I have some other stuff for sale here, would certainly be tempted by upward trades for more than one item.
