  1. That is stunning. Almost wish I had a Jazz Bass to put it on!
  2. I have a couple of instruments that have been worked on by John, and he is quality! I think January is just a lean month for a lot of people - either paid early in December and waiting for January payday, or the post-Christmas gig dearth and overspending recovery, or all of the above.
  3. Really wish my fretting hand could cope with the slim Soundgear necks, because these are absolutely gorgeous.
  4. Damn. Would trade my MV4 for this in a heartbeat! What a beauty (:
  5. PM returned. Apologies for the delay, was at work. My straps run 45” hole-to-hole (112cm), so I’m guessing this would be too long?
  6. What’s the weight?
  7. Interested - also interested in knowing length (:
  8. Bump! Still interested in Bravewood, Sadowsky etc but also interested in medium scale instruments, particularly Precisions, singlecuts or five/six strings Will consider an outright sale too.
  9. The Yamaha LLs are wonderful. I have an incredible, beautifully crafted LL26 Yamaha gave me which was my main acoustic for many years and is still one of my primary recording instruments.
  10. Watched this yesterday. Really like the dismantle-able bass idea, sounds great for flying. Also really don’t like the “P” style one.
  11. I’ve tried most flats at this point, and I personally prefer a brighter flat so quite like the Ernie Ball flats, their Cobalt flats, D’Addario Chromes and Fender flats. The TI Jazz flats are lower tension, feel lovely and are what gives the Pino P its sound IMO. If you prefer darker flats, the Pyramid Golds are also worth a look.
  12. Ah shame, am quite interested but that is a bit of a trek for me and I won’t be heading that way for some time 😔
  13. May I ask where you are located?
  14. I have D’Addario Chromes in my Super P5, and alternate between Dingwall and Sansone strings on my Super J5.
  15. 😯
  16. Are they full size / scale?
  17. Probably to make the instrument more vintage-correct, which is the whole idea of the series.
  18. 6.1lb?! What’s the trick?
  19. That's outrageously light for a 5-string! Is the neck roasted?
  20. Damn that was quick. Have these on my two Dingwall Supers, excellent tuners.
  21. I've compared Bravewoods and Limelights and IMO there is no comparison - as you would expect given that Bravewoods are at least twice the cost. I still think they're excellent value though, cheaper than a Custom Shop and MUCH nicer to play, feel and look at. Given that you have a 64 Precision, like me, I'd suggest not skimping. The Spitfire stuff looks nice, but almost too pretty - doesn't look original to me... and it's ridiculously expensive.
  22. John at Bravewood restored my 64 Precision and ended up putting a beautifully aged replacement guard on it (he had to make a new body anyway as the previous owner had an accident with it and replaced it with a plywood body, of all things). I've had it side by side with an original in good condition and it's honestly indistinguishable. Even the bevels etc are a perfect match.
