1.
What does the Bare Knuckle pick-up give you that the custom shop pick-up didn't? I have an '57 journey man too & love the sound so interested to hear what I'm missing?
I have the Bareknuckle in my '61P (installed by previous owner) and it's an excellent pickup. I'm getting a '64 restored at the moment and that's getting a Nordstrand NP4v put in - quite looking forward to seeing how they both compare actually.
2. Keep popping in to look at this...
3. I like the Bareknuckle 58 in my 61P, and am hoping for good things from the Nordstrand NP4v going into my 64P (replacing the Quarter Pounder that's in there now)... but I've also found the Entwhistles in my Revelation fretless to be surprisingly good.
4. Love my MV4 - it's exactly this but with a maple board. KILLER instruments, incredible super jazzes.
5. There is an RG group on Facebook where you could list it instead.
6. Ah I didn't realise it was in another forum, I just eyeballed this one and didnt see it. Apologies!
7. I'll let it speak for itself... comments? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nQgAv2jcmcI
8. Someone's going to pop along and ask how much it weighs (:
9. I have a Revelation fretless PJ which is a lot nicer than it deserves to be for the money. Looks great, nice tone with the Entwhistles, plays very nicely and lightweight too.
10. I think that's my old Strat, isn't it? In which case it's specifically a 54 Reissue with the V shaped neck.
11. Bump after a long while, would like to sell to fund restoration of my 64 P.
12. Jo is one of the finest bass players in the country, and while he could make any bass sound phenomenal, this one was always spectacular. He also takes great care of his gear. Buy with total confidence.
13. I already have two sunburst pre-CBS Ps so I really shouldn't be even looking...
14.
Looks a little like a Modern Player but it's not quite right.
I think it is a Modern Player.
15. Why do people post and then delete all traces of it? It's pretty annoying for people arriving at the thread late.
16. If you're in SE London, you're welcome to come try mine out.
17.
Is the revelation stuff really decent? Might be an option if it's good for the money. I've seen some of their guitars before and always been a bit suspicious because of the very low prices.
If it helps, I have two pre-CBS Precisions, two Canadian Dingwalls (a Super P5 and a Super J5), a Sadowsky, a Conklin, and a couple CIJ Fenders. My Revelation fretless P weighs 8.5lb, plays nicely with a low action and sounds very decent.
18. I have an unlined Revelation P that's actually very good. Entwhistle pickup and plays and sounds great.
19. The CIJs are superb. I have an FSR Classic 60s Lacquer in the classifieds here which is lightweight, resonant, and immaculately built. Have also owned several excellent Japanese Fender Strats.
