Just acquired a bridge from Dave. It arrived super quickly and packaged to withstand a nuclear strike. Top bloke; one of the best on here. Thanks again.
-
I've put a sticker or two on pickguards; all pretty tame really.

This is my old bass. The sratchplate was custom made by Jack's Instrument Services in Manchester IIRC.

Back at £225 now. Looks like someone thought it was something else from that stable.

This landed two weeks ago and due to a bout of ill health I'm just getting around to this post. My humble apologies bass brethren, I throw myself to the mercy of the court. p.s. It's a cracker. Rather than re-post Alan's pics please see the web page here: https://acguitars.co.uk/project/0500slg4-32/ I did manage one pic at ead towers though:

I have a selection of three very different Js to are welcome to come and try. I seem to recall we are not too far apart. I'm afraid I can't help with the others, but I do have an ACG that would, I'm sure, hit your spot.

New bass advice, Sadowsky Metroline or Metro Express (or Sandberg / Lakland)
ead replied to Steve1250's topic in Bass Guitars
I owned an RSD Chinese Metroexpress (fretless) for quite a while and the simple expedient of taking out the original fit preamp and replacing it with a John East drop in J Retro Deluxe tuned it into a very decent bass indeed. I found no issues with the hardware and the original fit pickups, although not the Saowsky hum cancelling ones, were also perfectly fine. -
This. My favourite being my Geddy Lee (or any other J with 70s pickup positions).

This is a very reluctant sale due only to bad GAS attack for a bass that has come up for sale and that has been on my Wishlist for a while. Since I have two other J basses this has to be the sacrificial lamb. These basses were made as part of a limited run in 2021. The have a factory road worn finish in Nitro, matching headstock, stack knobs and (unusually for a 60's type bass) 9.5 inch radius. The full spec is below. The bass weighs in at 9lb 1oz, a very reasonable weight for a Jazz bass. The finish is faded Olympic White. I’m not sure that I have done it full justice in my pics as I’m not a great photographer. A vintage-style Fender hard case included. There is plenty of info & demos on t'interweb. You really won't get many chances at one of these, particularly in this colour. Now Sold Any questions, please just fire away. Pics are below. Specifications · Body Shape: Jazz Bass® · Body Material: Alder · Body Finish: Road Worn® Nitrocellulose Lacquer · Neck Shape: Mid '60s "C" · Fretboard Material: Pau Ferro · Fretboard Radius: 9.5" (241 mm) · Scale Length: 34" (864 mm) · No. of Frets: 20 · Fretboard Inlays: White Dot · Pickup(s): 60th Anniversary Jazz Bass® Single Coil · Bridge: 4-Saddle Vintage Style with Threaded Steel Saddles · Strings: Fender® USA 7250M Nickel Plated Steel (.045-.105 Gauges) · Pickguard: 4-Ply Tortoiseshell · Tuning Machines: Vintage Style Reverse · Hardware Finish: Nickel/Chrome

It almost feels like we need a parallel thread for the weak willed and easily persuaded

One of Mr Cringean's lovely creations.

Failed already sadly, but I think it was worth it

SOLD ELSEWHERE For sale is my Ibanez AGB200 Artcore Bass, a semi-hollow, single-cut design with a maple top with ivory multi-binding on maple back and sides mated to a set-in mahogany and maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with ivory binding and pearl dot position markers. The serial number dates this to 2007 (an S plus 8 digits) so as this bass was only introduced by Ibanez in 2007, this must be one of the very early ones. It was produced in China. The bass is in good condition, there is some very light marking on the top of the headstock and a small paint chip in the neck that has been touched up. Please see the pics for more detail. I have a decent gig bag for the bass, but no hard case so would prefer not to ship if at all possible. Happy to have the bass collected or meet up somewhere to hand over. Price is a very modest £325 for a beautiful looking and sounding instrument. If you have any questions at all or require additional pictures of any details, please ask away and I give as comprehensive an answer as I am able! Pics are below. Full specifications: · Body type: Semi-hollow body · Dimensions: Width: 14½"/ 368mm; Depth: 2⅝"/ 67mm · Top: Maple · Binding: Ivory · Back/sides: Maple · Neck joint: Set-in · Bridge: Gibraltar III bass (19mm string spacing) · Tailpiece: Quik Change III bass · Knob style: Sure Grip III (black) · Hardware colour: Gold · Neck material: 3-piece mahogany/ maple · Scale length: 770mm / 30.3" · Fingerboard material: Rosewood with ivory binding · Fingerboard inlays: Pearl dot · Frets: 22 medium · Nut: Ivory plastic (42mm) · Machine heads: Ibanez die-cast · Pickup: 2 x Ibanez ACHB-B2 passive ceramic · Controls: Master volume / master tone / 3-way toggle pickup selector · Output jack: ¼" mono (side mounted)

Hi folks. For sale is my Spector Legend 4 Classic Ash Black Cherry in excellent condition. The bass has never left the house and is unblemished as you can hopefully see from the pics. The finish is a gorgeous Black Cherry, my personal favourite Spector colour. It's a nice weight at under 8.5lbs (3.8kgs) and will come with a good quality gig bag. I would prefer collection or meeting up somewhere if possible/practical. I do have packaging so could post and I'll split the cost 50/50 with you if that is the option required. These were around £750 new iirc. For sale at a bargain price of £400. If you have any questions please just ask. Plenty of pics below but if you would like additional detail please just ask. Thanks for looking. Manufacturers blurb & Specs: "The Legend 4 Classic combines the iconic silhouette of the NS design with rock-solid bolt-on construction to provide a reliable and affordable instrument for all players. The extremely comfortable curved body is crafted from lightweight and resonant ash. These basses now include custom voiced pickups from Bartolini that aim to provide the warmth of a classic passive design, while preserving the clarity and definition Spector is known for. These pickups are perfectly complemented by Spector’s TonePump Jr. active tone controls that offer interactive treble and bass controls for sculpting your sound. The Legend Classic also features a 3-piece maple neck, a 24 fret pau ferro fingerboard, and professional quality die-cast hardware. The Legend 4 Classic offers the looks, tone, and feel of basses twice its price." Whilst appreciating that this is a signature model where I guess anything within reason goes, did many P basses come with lollipops as I normally associate these with the J basses?
