  1. My vintage Fender lives in its case but gets hauled out regularly to be played. I genuinely think instruments suffer from lack of use, I know my violins do. Aside form recordimg the serial numbers I'd also take a comprehensive set pictures of each bass as well.
  2. Those kind of images are bad for your mental and financial wellbeing. Please cease and desist.
  3. My first fretless was a Yamaha RBX270F which I picked up for £80. I ended up keeping it for several years as it was a really good bass to learn on. Yamaha make pretty solid basses in most of the price categories and quality seems to be very consistent too. Definitely worth a look if you can find one.
  4. Have you tried ACG? Alan will build you a nice single cut.
  5. Doesn't do anything fom me I'm afraid.
  6. Big fan of the Fusion items myself.
  7. A very reluctant sale. This is the new shape California II in VM configuration with the P pickup in the usual orientation. It is one of a pair made for Classic & Cool Guitars last year that I rather bought on impulse and , as nice and versatile as it is, I tend to gig with my VS and TT more so it's a little neglected. Other than the pickup configuration and the block on the fretboard which are extra, it is pretty much the standard high quality German made Sandberg bass: Ash body with Maple neck and board, block inlays - pretty light at under 8 1/2 lbs in weight Fabulous neck with a 38mm nut width and a satin finish, so easy to move around on High quality Sandberg black hardware with lightweight tuners Natural satin finish on the body; also slightly unusual I guess as most of the natural basses seem to be in high gloss Unmarked as far as I can see 2-band EQ with active/passive option. The treble control acts as a tone control in passive mode Comes with the high quality Sandberg gig bag I would prefer to arrange some kind of delivery/collection/meet up if at all possible. I'm pretty flexible and willing to travel a bit if necessary. Courier would be the last resort and will be at cost to you. Attractively priced at £950 Here are some pics. Please let em know if you would like to see any more detail and I'll happily oblige. My feedback:
  8. Another vote for the Overwater by Tanglewood Classic Jazz. £150ish for a very nice bass indeed.
  9. Glad you're liking them. Not had a chance to fire up my new (to me) Super Compact at full chat yet, but early noises are very encouraging.
  10. Just bought a Barefaced cab from Malcolm. Top bloke and owner of some very nice basses. Goods were exactly as descibed and everyhting went really smoothly, deal in confidence folks.

    Feedback for T-Bay

Clive has just acquired by Barefaced rig. What a nice guy to deal with, great comms etc. as has been said above many times. Top banana and a credit to BC, deal in confidence.
  12. Worth checking to see if the preamp has internal gain pots to allow for pickups with differing output levels. Quick and easy fix if it has.
  13. Why don't you try it on a bit. Get in touch with their PR folk and tell them you own 15 MM basses (or whatever the real number is if you're averse to doing penance) and have come all the way from The Old Country on a pilgrimage just to see them. You never know...
  14. Will do. Just snuck on at work this morning and it seems fine at the moment. Maybe my laptop is doing something in the background that I was not aware of? Sorry to have troubled you.
  15. I seems to me that the site is slow again. I can be typing and it will take several seconds before the text actually appears. Pages are slow to load too I feel.
  16. Hi folks I'm taking the momentous decision to acquire a new Barefaced "One Cab To Rule The All" so my trusty long-serving Midget & Compact are up for sale or possible trade for the right BF product more than likely with cash your way. I'm thinking Super Compact, Big Baby 2 or possible Super Twin. Both are in excellent condition and have served me well at many gigs. They have never been abused and mostly serve as monitors as I tend to 'broadcast' through the PA rather than from the backline. In fact for the past 12 months the Compact has been more of a speaker stand for the Midget. Specs are here: http://barefacedbass.com/product-range/midget.htm http://barefacedbass.com/product-range/compact.htm It's a great setup and plenty of positive comments on here and t'interweb. If nothing happens then keeping them is really not an issue! I would really prefer for the cabs to be collected or I can deliver for a modet contribution to fuel costs so they can be seen and tested by the buyer. Also happy to meet up somewhere. I've recently driven 2 1/2 hours to trade a bass so I'm quite accommodting really. Price wise I'm looking for : Compact £350 and Midget £325. If you would like to relieve me of both ot them then happy to discuss price. Here are some pictures. Let me know if you'd like to see anything in more detail and I'll do my best with my modest photography skills, but I've discovered that it's tricky to photograph black things well.
  17. Not altogether a bad price when seen next to an MIM Roadworn bass. A lot more individual attention to detail I feel and they don't all look exactly the same
  18. @discreet we're just not appreciated. Maybe we're an acquired taste?
  19. There's a queue you know. You can't just push in like that, it's just not British.
  20. Interesting, going through this very thought process myself if only because I'm playing through PAs mostly and the Compact is more often than not used as a stand for the Midget as a monitor. Alex is recommending an SC as the One Cab To Rule Them All option.
