1. I'm just about to change a set of TIs that are about 4 years old.
2. That's great to hear. I love it when that happens.
3.
Ibanez
Yup, found an SR1500, the P/J version with the Power Curve EQ - the one with the 3k plus switch.
4. Not this time, funds on the low side! MIJ 1991 and not in any way Fender related.
5.
If you want to stick to Saxon or Anglo Saxon you will have to come and live in Newcastle or Northumberland. We still speak lots the original language and pronunciations. Geordie is not just an accent its a ancient language.
My Mum's from Whitley Bay so reasonable fluent.
6. Any incorrect use of the Saxon genitive is my particular frustration. Yes, proud OCD owner.
7.
My first one also - not really sure what to expect. Any seasoned bass bashers care to share what we're in for?
Well I've been to a few up in Moffat but the format there is a bit different given that the Saturday night is given over to drinking and curry and the Sunday is then about nursing hangovers whilst trying to pretend lots of bass playing is helping. I really enjoy them as you get to meet other bassists with common interests and illnesses (GAS). Sometimes I come away thinking I'm an OK player. other times my worst fears are confirmed (that I'm really am not very good on the bass), but that normally encourages more practice.
8. I have just acquired a couple of Boss pedals from Andy. Very easy to deal with, great comms. very helpful re meeting up. Highly recommended and a credit to the forum.
9. That bass is really a thing of beauty
10. Dood's a complete tart. Feel free to provide clues though.
11.
Balls. Bought an 80's Dod Stereo Chorus by accident
I hate it when that happens...
12. Plus, and more importantly, is the mug: Active or passive? Any good for metal? Better or worse than a F***der?
13. I touched it once when Scoop wasn't looking...
14. Will sort this out at the weekend and share with family and friends. Good luck with the fund-raising
15. OK thanks for the info. I might well do that.
16. Thanks for the info. Really not keen on the Zoom thing. I tried one of the pedals and I don't really get all the menus and options - too much choice for me. I can see the sense of separate pedals plus it allows me to be a bit of a gear tart too so all good. I was nosying around the COG site and they do look nice but couldn't see a chorus pedal. Not looked at Carl martin until last night but couldn't see which one you might be referring to Skybone? If I went for separates what does the panel think of Boss vs EHX stuff?
17.
If anyone is shifting a small practise amp, please bring it along. I'd be interested if the price is right.
I've got a Stagg practice amp if that floats your boat, it's a few years old now.
