1. I use mine quite a lot in both bands no real issue as you can play a fretless in many ways and not all of them require a chorus pedal and/or loads of slides.
2. Near Chorley in Lancashire. PR6 postcode.
3. Yeah it's great. The best bit is that the guitarist understands EQing and space and makes sure not to trample over my space in the audible spectrum. Happy days.
4. I notice Strings Direct do a bunch of Chrome singles in gauges from 032 to 132 in Long Scale. Any use to you?
5.
Flares made a brief comeback so surely there still hope for fretless...
Damn, did I miss this? I have my purple ones with obligatory paisley inserts on standby.
6. I think Scott is 'All thumbs' on here.
7. I've had universally good experiences with both Stringbusters and Strings Direct.
8. For sale is a set of black Dunlop Dual Design straplocks that are unused but no longer in their original packaging as I opened them thinking I was going to use them only to discover they were not required Happy to do pics if required. [s]£15 posted to UK mainland please.[/s] Thanks for looking. Now sold thanks
9. I have a set of the JB74s in my Sandberg TT (acquired on here). Can't recall the static impedance but they are hotter than the std fit items but not as extreme as Quarter Pounder type items. For me they are just right; went with some cream covers too. [sharedmedia=core:attachments:236844]
10.
Probably because most punk records from that era sound pretty tame compared with what's available today in various genres of metal and rap.
I think that it the truth. In reality what to me sounded raw and energetic in the mid 70s sounds pretty tame nowadays.
11. I tried my kids on punk but no joy and completely failed to be excited by New Rose and what followed. They do however like RATM and Limp Biskit so not entirely a wasted experience.
12. I suddenly feel very 'roadworn'
13. There is always the new (?) Kickass bridge (see the US Best Bass Gear website) which has both a Fender and a Squier hole spacing option so it would drop right in. Been mulling it over myself tbh. http://www.bestbassgear.com/hipshot-kickass-5-string-bass-bridge.htm
14. I think I might actually pay not to receive the calendar. More so if I'm in it
15.
I'm now after a German VS4 to see the difference.
Well mine should be along fairly soon so you are welcome to come and have a try.
16. Here's my Squier Vintage Modified Precision V. A couple of stray relections in the pic I'm afraid. As always baffled by the way pics orientate themselves
17. Some knobs for sale from the spares drawer, all in good condition. Pices include postage to mainland UK. [s]Three push on black metal knobs £8[/s] [s]Two flat top chrome knobs with grub screws e.g. Precision/Tele bass £8[/s] All sold now thanks
18. Good post bubinga5, respect and good wishes to you.
19. We did two full technical rehearsals to set the PA up for this before taking out to pubs and clubs. We also made up some harnesses to speed up set up and take down. Well worth the investment of time.
20. Yup, all the time now. I go straight into a passive Radial DI (the small green one) and into the PA. I get monitoring from the on-stage monitors but seriously looking at in-ear stuff now. The big next step is persuading the guitarist to do the same and declare the stage an amp free zone.
