1. Don't know whether it's urban legend or not, but I have heard suggestions that speakers should be stored & transported on the backs so the sagging effect is minimised.
2.
Ok, well yeah I doubt "Love Me Do" would chart at all. Neither would "Satisfaction". Not that it makes any difference ,but we haven't had Top 40 AM radio in decades. Blue
Brown Sugar would probably be banned (so could easily make it to no.1)

4. Mostly the ones people have tried for a couple of hours and 'not liked'.
5.
It might do if the charts could be as easily influenced as they were in the 60s
I remember it well
Add to the above the BEST and most personal customer service I've ever had from an instrument company and I'd say you're onto a winner...
Definitely this! PJ is a legend and no question is too small. I bet the Legend series were named for him.
7.
bloody Nora where did the years go?
This
8.
I think The Beatles catalog still sells reasonable well. I'm sure there are a few other iconish bands from the 60s & 70 that still sell and have stood the test of time at certain levels. Blue
Don't think that was quite what the OP was asking. If Love Me Do was released today (with no knowledge of former glories) would it still reach no.17 in the charts? I'm not sure it would. Maybe Love Me Do feat. Rhianna and DJ Skanky Dick might though.

I like them. That's one of the original Legends in my avatar with the P/J pickup and 3-band EQ. Currently loving my second SSD NS-94. Never played the Euro or the US ones but I hear nothing but good things about them. Currently GASing for an NS-2 Forte...
10.
Humbuckers with 3 way -parallel/single/series- switch are very versatile. My Maruszczyk has couple of them with switches and I am very happy with it.
Something like this I'd say (like the Warwick $$). That having been said the Jazz bass I think is one of the most recorded instruments so it can't be all bad!
11. After some contemplation I have decided to go with a 35P4/35J (reversed) combo. Will report back.
12. Interesting advice thanks boys. I have the JVXs in my Sandberg TT and they are very smooth sounding, so I think I'll go non-X for the extra zip.
13. Cheers Dan, that's what EMG suggested too. Think I might go for either the P4X/CSX or P4X/JX combo, but still a shade undecided. The DC pickups don't seem to get a lot of love on here. Have you been able to compare X and non-X EMGs as yet?
14. Which of course begs the question which would work best for a 4-string bass? I thought the 35 size was the 4-string and the 40 being for 5ers.
15. ...and the winner is........sorry wrong speech. From EMG: The 35px is Has magnets for a 5 string, the 35P4x has 4 string magnets. Cheers! Derek B. EMG
16. Hi all I'm looking at replacing som older humbuckers with some EMG 35, but I'm struggling to work out the difference between the 35P4X and the 35PX, can anybody shed any light please?
17.
To be fair to EVH (who I actually believe is a compete cock), he has never actually claimed he invented the technique, only that he did things with it that hadn't been done before. Which is why the world of rock guitar's collective jaw dropped when 'Eruption' first got played. At risk of sounding like Blue, you perhaps had to have been there to understand the quantum leap in technique this represented. Hendrix redefined the way electric guitar was played, so did EVH.
But did he play 4 hour bar gigs for nowt?

Just sold a tuner pedal to Alan. Quick payment, good comms, a credit to the forum. Many thanks for a smooth transaction.
19. TC Polytune clip-on these days. Had a Korg Pitchblack and latterly a TU-3 but the clip on is pretty good and very quick so convenience wins and the other two are sold off.
20. Now sold, many thanks.
21. I'm sorry, did you say tasteful?
22. I used to have an RBX270 fretless, pretty decent bass, kept it and gigged it for 5 years.
23. Gosh, I confess to never having given a thought to the need for this type of product for our more humanitarian colleagues. Ashamed of Chorley.
24. A bit of mild compression is nice with a fretless bass.
