1. Just acquired a gig bag from Nige; totally solid citizen as has been said many times. Thanks very much.
2. Can't believe this is still here. If only I could buy some talent to go with it
3.
Probably quite a lot, I would say. I would seriously doubt that the Fender branded ones are hand made by seasoned professional plastic carvers deep in the Appalachian Mountains before being wafted over Leo's signature to acquire magic.
Is that the northern Appalachian mountains or the southern Appalachians? I wouldn't touch those southern ones with a barge pole.
4. I listened to it three times on the trot last night (I know, I know, I should get out more) but it is magnificent.
5. I look after my gear too. My AGCs can be seen in the pubs and clubs where we routinely play. OK they're neither Foderas nor Sadowskys but I couldn't justify the price for one of those seriously high end instruments. I also have one cheaper bass that I will take to the one or two venue that are a bit 'lively'.
6. Apologies if this has been seen before but a friend told me about this and after having a listen tonight I thought I should share it just in case it has been overlooked somehow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_Va3e_52TE
7. A bit late in the day I know, but I have an ACG SEQ in a J Type bass. It has a volume/blend stack and a single filter knob for each pickup, kind of like two really good tone controls with what sounds like a broader sweep than the passive setup. There are some trimpots you can tweak inside but I've never felt the need other than to turn the peak overshoot gain right down.
8. On the active bass is there any kind of trim pot in the circuitry that you can use to set the output level?
9.
I believe Scott uses these himself on tour and in the studio. Must say something as to the quality.
This is true, he is currently using them with Big Country.
10. I've played a few of these and they are great basses.
11. I have both p/ups on full then play with the tone. Generally I end up in the tone being either full on, backed of about a 1/3 turn or backed off quite a lot.
12. Here in the northwest where men are men and sheep are worried (or is that Wales, I forget) we typically get £200 to £300 depending on venue and haggling etc.
13. Westones are great. I have 2s and they are special so I can only imagine how good these are. Plus Westones have proper wire as well.
14. Now sold elsewhere.
15. Last bump before I split the parts out I think.
16.
You should say to them that you find their lack of faith in your ability disturbing before picking one up by its neck
17. Jazz for me just shades it.
18. I love prog. New bands hard to find sadly.
19. Thanks for the comments.
20. Just bought some pickups from Rob. Easy transaction, everything as described, quick delivery. Many thanks for a smooth transaction.
21. Thanks Tom, I do believe that this represents excellent value!
