1. I've bought a few things direct without a problem, they are good at the customer service stuff. P&P can be a bit pricey, I think it was $50 last time, plus don't forget customs duty and VAT etc. You $100 preamp could therefore cost around £140 time it hits your mat.

Feedback for gyrus

Alex just bought some strap locks from me. Prompt payment, easy comms., and he even sent me some pics of the goods to show they had landed safely. Top chap, deal in confidence people of BC.
3. I not so sure about the fancy woods being an impediment to playabilty. I have several coffee tables, they all play nicely and fit in well with the bands (sorry boys nights out) I play in. They would definitely let me know if they didn't. Goodness knows what might lurk under the thick paint and lacquer that some basses are covered in (I have some of those too). So for me it's all about playability as I don't have the skill or technique to overcome the faults in the poorer instruments.
4. Thanks fellas, all PMs answered. ON HOLD now.

7. For sale a brand new, unopened set of DR Fat Beams strings 45 - 105 gauge. £25 posted to UK Mainland. Thanks for looking.
8. My biggest surprise has been the Farida P bass I acquired recently. [sharedmedia=core:attachments:211856]
9. At home the good old 30yr old hi fi (well it was back then). More so in the car nowadays, using a portable player through a headphone amp into car system. On the move same player and headphone amp into some good quality in-ears, and occasionally laptop and headphones if I'm feeling lazy.
10. Really nice bass this, had a go on it at Kev's recently. Great feeling neck and nice balance too. GLWTS
11.
ash neck? Never seen that
Some ACGs have them. Mine is on this bass and all I can say is that it's the best neck on any of my basses: http://www.acguitars.co.uk/acg_admin/wordpress/portfolio/0200ss-j-type-4/ The third pic down shows it a bit.
12.
Had it? What is it, then?
Can't remember , but I'm sure there was a thread somewhere with a most unlikely ending.
13. However on stuff I'm not too keen on then: Green or blue basses (and white too for that matter - but quite like vintage white or cream or whatever it's called) LEDs Big square lumpy heels Gold hardware Overly large bridge assemblies Single cuts Jumbo frets
14.
However we still don't know which is the best bass for metal, so have a think about that.
I thought that had been finally settled?
15. To pick a few things: Single coil pickups Ash necks Natural finish Banjo frets The complete absence of frets Basses that balance well on the knee as well as the strap NS body shape Most varieties of Jazz and Jazz-type basses
16. Some good stuff. A Radar Love has already been mentioned I'm going to go with Visage - Fade To Grey.
17. In a selfless gesture I'll buy your ACGP for a couple of hundred to help you build a fighting fund.
18. Nice bass, apalling timing for me as just put a deposit down on a Sandberg Cali II TT.
19. One of the loudest I remember from way back was ELO. More recently Alice Cooper
20. Had my G2 Compact and G2 Midget for a while now and foresee several more years with them as they work brilliantly for me. Lent my rig to the bass player in another band the other weekend and he's now after some BF cabs.
