1. I think the current one does both but not sure whether there were earlier incarnations. Gorgeous bass BTW, neck-through not longer available from ACG so grab this whilst you can people.
2. Me too, universally good experiences with SD.
3. This was once mine and was sold rather reluctantly, at this price it's a steal and Jim is a top bloke to deal with.
4. I've a set of black ones in the drawer if none of the above works out.
5. Fender Road Worn Jazzes are great (if you like that kind of thing).
6. Further update from Warwick: I received and email today offering apologies, a full refund and a desire to sort me out with an p/guard that fits. This feels more like it. I will update on progress as it happens.
7. Both the bands I play in qualify. As to why, not sure really we are all older and wiser and more tollerant I guess. The average age of one band is c.60 and the other c.40 I guess.
8.
We really dont compete with the boys night out bands. And remember typically the boys night out bands don't really want gigs and are rareley persueing them. Blue
Massive generalisation with which I disagree whole-heartedly. I may only gig 25-30 times a year with one BNO group (blues and classic R&B covers) and less that that with the other (original music), but we still look for gigs. Looking at others playing in the same venues covers and tribute bands do most of the busness while people playing original music are hugely under-represented. Doesn't stop us trying though.
9. Try All thumbs on here. Top bloke based in Burnley who has quite a collection of SS basses as well as his own model now being produced, I have played several of the prototypes and they are fabulous. Scott is a top bloke and I'm sure would be more than happy for you to drop round to try a few things out. He has a green Chowny too, plus a few Richwoods and others I can't remember now.
10. I think it's mostly about the body shape but I'm not really an expert on Sandbergs tbh.
11. General moan in the vague hope somebody from Warwick is on here. I've been trying to get a black pick guard for my Streamer CV4 as the spec. says black for light coloured basses (mine is natural ash) and cream for darker ones. Fair enough, but my one has a cream one fitted for some reason. I first contacted Warwick via the web contact email address in September. Having heard nothing for a while I tried again via Facebook on 12 October and got a reply saking me to contact the shop directly. This I did the same day and got a response back the next day (yeah) saying they would look into it and get back to me quickly. Two months later on 12 December I sent them an email to ask for an update. I got a response back a couple of days later telling me to order one through the website (no mention of the variation to the published spec.). Having pretty much lost the will to live I coughed up the €80 for a replacement part. This finally landed on 23rd December and I breathed a sigh of relief. On opening the box not only was the pick gaurd scuffed and scratched as if it had been kicked around the floor for a while, all the holes bar one were in different locations to the original fit item, plus there were two extra holes as well. Needless to say I have contacted Warwick again but I'm not holding my breath. Maybe by this time next year.... Pretty dissappointing really for a purveyor of pretty expensive basses.
12. Love these basses, they look awesome. What are you looking for trade wise?
13. Just wondering if anybody has strapped one of these new one on by any chance, and if so what do you think?
14. P bass kit with added bits and pieces just purchased from John. I'm a serial offender so I can only repeat what I have said before. In this case John has clearly gone to a lot of effort to get the kit to me before Christmas which is much appreciated. There is a reason John gets so much good feedback. He's easy to deal with; replies promptly to questions; is massively patient with idiots like me; delivers everything promptly, well packaged and charges resonable prices. Not just a top banana, but the top banana on his own personal tree.
15.
She has married, it's now Sue Maruszczyk. Great do.
16. Surely the perfect bass there.
17. Jazz basses have always cooler than Precisions. OK, OK, just kidding No I'm not......
18. Actually really enjoyed taking the thing to pieces yesterday and getting the accumulated layer of gunk off the bass and then reassembling it. Cleaning the fretboard as the hardest part, took a few hours but the result was worth the struggle. Just waiting for some new electrics from our very own Kiogon so I can assess the pickup. Static resistance looks pretty low so wondering if it might be faulty.
19. My Eve bass came with one of these gig bags. Very good they are too.
20. Mild topic hijack. A mate of mine who is just starting to learn the bass has been given a 1992 dated MB-2 (essentially a passive P bass) that is a bit tatty, but that I have offered to clean up and set up for him. Seems nice enough although the green speckly colour is a bit lurid. Still it cost him £0.00 and stopped a perfectly usable bass going in a skip.
21. Also Warwick Streamer CV is diminuitive compared to a J bass.
22.
Some of us are mostly in it for the drugs and women...
What about the beer?
23. Thankfully our nominee left of his own accord. Now a power trio with a guitarist who turns down the bass on his amp to leave space for me. Brilliant.
