1. Bump for price drop and trade option.
2. Hi there Thanks for the interest. Posting would be no problem, I have a heavy duty box up in the loft.
3. Yup, Lollars present and correct Rich. Hoping the RW goes first as I'd like to keep this one.
4. I'm in Chorley, with two fretless ACGs and one other fretless (but don't tell Alan). You are most welcome to come and try them all.
5. Being tempted isn't currently the main obstacle
6. Thanks boys. I'll leave the owner's identity hanging for just a little while. I believe that they have supported Guns & Roses on tour.
7. Here it is, a bit rough and ready from my phone but will give you the general idea.
8. Fender Jazz Bass 1997 CIJ 1962 RI – Now SOLD pending the usual formalities [s]For sale[/s] is my Japanese made Fender Jazz in Daphne Blue. The bass was previously owned by a famous bands bass player who used it live and for recording. This is the 1962 re-issue model and has all the features of a Fender Jazz bass from that era – a well sort after model. It's not mint and has been well used, but is in good playing condition and is really well set up. Are some worn parts per the photos and buckle rash on the back, but this is from playing rather than simulated, so real mojo. The bass will come with a new Fusion padded gig bag. I also have a nice Montreux tort pickguard with light relic which can be had for an extra £50. I have a phot of the bass wearing the tort p/g that I will dig out and add to the listing. Edit - Forgot to mention this has Lollar pickups fitted. They do sound great, and I actually prefer this bass to the RW Jazz also FS. Further edit - The bass weighs under 9lbs by my scales.
9. At a gig this summer. Hopefully not to close so as not to frighten children and small animals.
10. Time for a new quest then: What is the best bass for Prog?
11. My apologies to all, brain dead tonight.
12. For sale: Fender ‘60s Road Worn Jazz Bass - Only £600 for a quick sale Trade options (trade value £700): Amp head - Something lightish c.500W (into 4ohms) with some cash my way Bass-wise willing to consider anything interesting although most probably 4-string (maybe 5-string) I’m the second owner of this bass. It has been gigged a few times (but hey, it’s a RW series bass), but has always been well looked after and has lived in a hard case in my ownership. It comes with original Fender luxury gig bag and case candy. The bass was professionally set up along with a fret dress by the previous owner. It plays really well and has a great tone. I’m not a Fender expert in any way but these basses get pretty favourable reviews and cost around £1,100 new (my tutor thinks it is the best Jazz bass he has ever played). Local viewing is welcomed (PR6), although if this is difficult I can provide as many photos as you like. I did buy the bass specifically to fit in with the "look" of a blues band I'm in, but my new ACG J Type is now doing the heavy lifting so this bass is hardly being used. The serial number is MZ8270946. This dates the bass to 2008/09, as such it is one of the first production models and doesn’t have the weird extra hole under the pickguard. I would rather meet up if at all possible. Link to spec on Fender website The bass is currently strung with D’Addario nickel wound strings (approximately 2 months old). Please feel free to ask any questions you like to which I will respond as quickly and as accurately as I am able.
13.
It could be that people who don't care for Fenders don't like or appreciate being preached at by a vocal minority about how wrong they are. That's how it feels and comes across to me sometimes.
If you have a thick skin try criticising RICs on their forum. Particularly if you mention the bridge and third party subs
14. Despite my penchant for ACGs, I recently acquired a Jazz bass (or two) for a particular band. Having now converted the band to the ACG sound as well, I think I'll hang onto one of them it as there's quite a lot to like about them and also a lot of the music I grew up with was played on them.
15. Here's a pic of my Fender RW and my ACG J Type:
16. Lovely bass btw. Please could you post the spec.?
17.
Splendid, I can put my feet up for the rest of the week then.
Oh no you don’t, you have work to do and new ACGs to spec up
18. Something like a Spector SSD NS-94 or maybe a Peavey C4 Zephyr NT - to my eternal regret I have owned a nice example of each and sold them on. Or maybe something like a Yamaha BB2004 NT
