1. Sad indeed. I was at an audition for a blues band last night playing a couple of BB King songs and though how good they were.
2. Our bin men will only take our wheelie bin if I leave it within 7.2mm of where the lorry stops, keep the weight to less than 2.7kgs and leave brown envelopes with cash in discreetly taped to the outside. So for me courier deliveries left in the bin on the drive (which is actually quite sheltered by trees) are therefore OK as long as nobody sees them of course.
3. I'm very impressed with the RW Jazz I have recently acquired. I'm not a natural Fender person either so there is definitely something about them.
4. Thanks, I think I half heard a trailer but didn't catch the timing.
5. Are you sure that's a bass and not a harp?
6. I had an MIM P in midnight wine/parchment but never truly got on with preferring, as I still do, the 2 x single coil setup. Iconic bass though.
7. Absolutely agree good does not necessarily mean expensive. My most expensive bass is a custom ACG fretless that cost many, many hundred pounds less than a Fender custom shop jazz (for example). I will not be parting with it either
8. Parchment gets my vote.
9. Cheers guys. Looks like it got away as it was f/s at Rich Tone Music
10. Evening all. Can anybody advise whether the SSS Js have the longer bridge pickup (when compared to the neck one)? Thanks
11.
Here's a nice one too. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3f4bccea96 I had a sunburst one back in the '70s as my first bass. The fingerboard came unglued and fell off. Maybe I was just unlucky.
That looks like the one that started life at £350, same picture and wording etc.
12.
Especially when you read in the build thread "finishing starts tomorrow" and realise that doesn't mean "it'll be finished by tomorrow". Last week or so has consisted of me being really hopeful of 'that email' arriving.
I share you pain, my new ACG is in the same state, but Alan’s basses are immaculate and well worth the wait.

Now enjoying a Fender after the acquisition of this Road Worn 60s J.
14. Here's my Eve Iona fretless.
15. I am always mildly disappointed not to receive personal emails from the courier's Chief Exec every hour reporting progress.
16. Here’s the link to the one that didn’t sell on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Second-Hand-Antoria-Jazz-Bass-/191510109026?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2c96e45b62&nma=true&si=Cei27x5GenpAksDm2xnYPct6214%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 I was tempted for a bit I must say.
17. Yup, I concur with my learned friend, It's one of those things on the HDD that will not be deleted.
18.
ACG are stunning instruments. I recommend that you talk directly to Alan about the kind of bass that will tick your boxes.
This pretty much. Alan’s alder bodies are very light weight though from my personal experience. I recently, and pretty reluctantly, sold one that weighed less than 7.5lbs. It was to fund another ACG though
19. IIRC I paid £125 for a slightly later Antoria Jazz finished in black. This one had the trad J pickups though. The 3TSB one on evilbay started at around £350 I think, but after a few price drops down to £249 I still don't think it sold.
20.
I'd like the marketplace sub-forums divided up into manufacturer, type, colour, board type, scratchplate, number of strings, geographical location down to ward level and price bands in £10 increments. Example: Forum: Fender / Jazz / Natural / RW / Blk / 4st / England / South Midlands / Oxfordshire / North Oxfordshire / Banbury / BA15 / Shenington with Alkerton / £500-£510 The benefit of this approach is that it would make things much easier for me and more difficult for everyone else. That's right. I said it.
That’s just unacceptable; you’ve omitted vital information like constellation and nearest galaxy
21.
If there is sub sections, i would rather it be done on price. 0-£500, £501-£1000, £1001-£1500,£1501-£50000 for example. If you divide all the basses into Fenders, etc, then you could miss a bargain that you hadn`t originally thought about,
This for me would be the main thing as I suspect a lot of us work to a budget when GAS strikes. As we have the sale/trade value field that is set and (I think) cannot be changed, could this be used as some sort of filter?
22. There was a 3TSB Antoria with these p/ups on evilbay recently. I'm sure bassassasin will be along shortly to shed light on this murky corner!
