1.
Great article and some lovely gear. Gonna show my wife this later - single sounds like fun!
Me too, if only to prove how modest my collection is and that one more tiny little bass can’t possibly hurt?
2. Acquired a Detuner from Bryan. Perfect gent, fastest despatch in the west and a real gent. Many thanks.
3. Nice one Mr Eude, finally you have acquired a bass (albeit a bit shrunken with the correct number of strings). Clearly with one more bun in the oven I will need to keep my clear lead of 1 x ACG by ordering another. Now where did I put that blank spec sheet....
4. Congrats Woody and welcome to the club.
5.
And that's how two or three individuals derail a really good thread, and turn it into a mud slinging contest... Nice one chaps...
+1 I thought I was on the wrong forum for a while.
6. I play in a blues band, but we do throw in some 60s stuff too. Top of my head the set list is something like: Django/Just Got Paid/Cocaine We Gotta Get Outta This Place Black Magic Woman Need Your Love Tonight High Heel Sneakers The Thrill Is Gone My Babe Somebody Ride The River Dust Bowl Rock Me Baby All Or Nothing Route 66 Mustang Sally Before You Accuse Me Feel Like Making Love Walking By Myself Bad Love Saw Her Standing There Lucille China Grove When You Walk In The Room I Feel Fine
7. Not a song, but a moment in a song. And more hair on back of neck than asphyxiation...but in Firth of Fifth by Genesis there is a moment about a third of the way through when Steve Hackett comes in with the main guitar solo...just wonderful (ymmv, imho and other caveats apply).
8. Do any of you kind people have a mechanical drawing please as I want to check I can put one onto a CIJ Fender 62RI Jazz bass. I can't find one on the interweb so fingers crossed...
9. This has just appeared on the ACG website. I know it's over your budget, but represents huge value for money for somebody: http://www.acguitars.co.uk/acg_admin/wordpress/portfolio/0180-recurve-5/
10. Including trades eleven in total. One in my possession currently.
11. Manchester booked
12. My preferred roundwound string. I have used them on my fretted basses for a year or two now and currently instlled on 4 basses. I like the feel and the really piano like tones.
13. That's iritating, gigging with Slyder on Friday in Leyland so going to miss NWR.
14. New lightly aged Montreux tort PG landed today. Very pleased with it and slotted straight on to the bass with minimum fuss. This one is a bit darker than the one on my RW Jazz but looks really nice in the flesh, the pic doesn't really do it justice (phone pic and general lack of operator talent). 15. I recently fessed up to owning six basses, althought there is still one undeclared fretless bass that will need to be accounted for as part of some highly complex multinational trade/sale deal involving travel to foreign parts like Wigan and maybe as far as Yorkshire.
16.
yes it is, though i have addressed that problem now and done the deed and am already in the i want it now phase
Good man
17. My tutor has Di Marzios in all his Jazz type basses. They are 4-strings though but I believe it's a straight swap. There are probably some mechanical drawings on their website.
18.
i have the opposite problem, i cant bring myself to buy one even though ive had the green light from the boss.
That’s just weird
19. Fairly sure that Mr ACG had no previous wood-working experience. Could be wrong though; according to Mrs ead I usually am.
20. Yeah, just hoping something hits my door mat tbh. Although the emails from the company seem in order and there is courier tracking info too so fingers crossed....will do pics when it all happens of course.
21.
It's one of these. They do aged ones too but they're quite a bit more expensive: https://m.thomann.de...arch=1435669588
Just scored an antique Montreux 62 J plate for €63 plus P&P from Emma-musique in France Should work out around £55 delivered.

Very nice Tom, loving the look of it and hopefully will tick all the boxes for you.
23. Nice. I'm going to be looking for a similar thing for my CIJ 62RI Jazz also in Daphne Blue, will check out the Thomann website. Anywhere else I should look?
24. Thanks boys, will look into it. I have the original Pitchblack so don't know how I missed that!
