Here's a nice one too. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3f4bccea96 I had a sunburst one back in the '70s as my first bass. The fingerboard came unglued and fell off. Maybe I was just unlucky.
That looks like the one that started life at £350, same picture and wording etc.
Especially when you read in the build thread "finishing starts tomorrow" and realise that doesn't mean "it'll be finished by tomorrow". Last week or so has consisted of me being really hopeful of 'that email' arriving.
I share you pain, my new ACG is in the same state, but Alan’s basses are immaculate and well worth the wait.

I am always mildly disappointed not to receive personal emails from the courier's Chief Exec every hour reporting progress.

Here’s the link to the one that didn’t sell on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Second-Hand-Antoria-Jazz-Bass-/191510109026?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2c96e45b62&nma=true&si=Cei27x5GenpAksDm2xnYPct6214%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 I was tempted for a bit I must say.

Yup, I concur with my learned friend, It's one of those things on the HDD that will not be deleted.

Decisions decisions - looking for input on specs
ACG are stunning instruments. I recommend that you talk directly to Alan about the kind of bass that will tick your boxes.
This pretty much. Alan’s alder bodies are very light weight though from my personal experience. I recently, and pretty reluctantly, sold one that weighed less than 7.5lbs. It was to fund another ACG though -
IIRC I paid £125 for a slightly later Antoria Jazz finished in black. This one had the trad J pickups though. The 3TSB one on evilbay started at around £350 I think, but after a few price drops down to £249 I still don't think it sold.

Selling on Basschat, a suggestion to the MODs
ead replied to bassface2k10's topic in General Discussion
I'd like the marketplace sub-forums divided up into manufacturer, type, colour, board type, scratchplate, number of strings, geographical location down to ward level and price bands in £10 increments. Example: Forum: Fender / Jazz / Natural / RW / Blk / 4st / England / South Midlands / Oxfordshire / North Oxfordshire / Banbury / BA15 / Shenington with Alkerton / £500-£510 The benefit of this approach is that it would make things much easier for me and more difficult for everyone else. That's right. I said it.
That’s just unacceptable; you’ve omitted vital information like constellation and nearest galaxy -
Selling on Basschat, a suggestion to the MODs
ead replied to bassface2k10's topic in General Discussion
If there is sub sections, i would rather it be done on price. 0-£500, £501-£1000, £1001-£1500,£1501-£50000 for example. If you divide all the basses into Fenders, etc, then you could miss a bargain that you hadn`t originally thought about,
This for me would be the main thing as I suspect a lot of us work to a budget when GAS strikes. As we have the sale/trade value field that is set and (I think) cannot be changed, could this be used as some sort of filter? -
There was a 3TSB Antoria with these p/ups on evilbay recently. I'm sure bassassasin will be along shortly to shed light on this murky corner!
Did this make an appearance (whatever it is)?
None of that kind of thing! Different bass player now but doing very lovely things on a 5-string Sadowsky. He absolutely nailed the bass solo in Ashes Are Burning.

Excellent gig in St Helens last night, Renaissance will excellent support act Agnieszka Swita (hopefully correctly spelt). Haven't seen Renaissance for an age, must be knocking on for 25 years+, but still on top form and with new material too.

Just acquired this form a fellow BCer. I'm not a natural Fender fan, but this has the potential to radically change my perceptions.

I must echo what hamfist said. Gareth is a completely top bloke. He went to no end of trouble to respond to PMs, send me additional pics, kept me right up to date with everything all the way through. The bass landed safely, was beautifully packaged and exactly as described. Truely the toppest of top bananas, deal with complete confidence.

Fretless GAS - should I step away from the Internet?
ead replied to lowdowner's topic in General Discussion
JFDI, I have a few fretless basses and it's a different dimenion completely to bass playing. The black ACG f/s in my sig is being replaced by the 5er.... I had an MIJ Jazz fretless that had been fitted with with Wizard 84s by the previous owner. I always thought that they sounded very easy on the ear.

When you get compliments on your playing

I generally look around and assume they are talking to somebody else. -
Very much liked the groove of the band, still on the fence a bit about the vocals.

Tom bought my ACG Graft Finn. As has been said many times before Tom is a perfect gent and so very easy to deal with. A real pleaseure to meet you too, thanks again.
